Nasty Guild Bank Deposit Bug to Fix - ZOS Long Aware

This used to be a rare bug, but now it's several people every week that deposit to a guild bank and their deposit is lost and not recorded. I don't know how any system can be built without ensuring that this is sacred and safe, but clearly, it was figured out how to fail in this capacity. It's been going on for a very long period and I know support is aware since my guild members regularly put in tickets, the issue is visible, and they get their gold refunded. How about you just fix it? Please remedy. I'm tired of 5-10 people a week relying on your code and finding the gold that they deposited never makes it to the guild bank.

I'm double upset that I spent a couple of months developing a guild management addon (since the guild management tools are so deficient) that relies on this mechanism/data being reliable to then find out yet another way ZOS short-changed the player base. I pay wayyyy too much cash into this game to see such lack of pride of work in return and I'm so tired of explaining to members that the reason they weren't entered into guild raffles is because ZOS doesn't know how to ensure data integrity in their systems.

    I agree, it's happening frequently now, whereas before it was only a rare issue.

    Guild bank lag has increased a lot lately, please dedicate some more resources to prevent this - you must surely be making enough cash to provide enough server capacity to ensure that deposits to guild banks do not suffer massive lag and sometimes glitch out - seriously.

    Yes. I have lost out on quite a few of my guild raffles due to this - not to mention the loss of the gold. Almost got me kicked out a guild that required weekly dues. Please fix!

    I totally agree with this statement. Yet, it appears profits are much more important than keeping the player base happy! Thank you Anslay for bringing this out. Now we can only hope they actually fix this issue as well as the many others, but I'm not holding my breath!!

    I had a 50k guild bank deposit disappear last week; customer service gave it back, but I mean, if ZOS fixed the code, an ounce of prevention's worth a pound of cure and all that.

    I make sure to watch my funds deplete when I deposit into my Guild's banks. However, it would be nice to have a more concrete assurance that the funds are actually deposited properly.

    We used to be able to see deposits and I understand why that's changed. but surely there must be some way depositors can have faith that funds are actually credited properly. It's now a guess whether the deposit connects, unless the GM confirms or responds to numerous people asking if their deposit was received.

    Perhaps a fix would be a confirmation from the bank that your deposit was received.

    As far as I know, the guild bank loosing stuff glitch was created when the guild bank dupe bug was addressed somewhere around week 2 of the game. Originally the code didn't delete the copy in your inventory until verifying it was in the guild. That allowed for macros that deposited and withdrew with very specific and fast timing to duplicate things. This was related to ZOS in beta months before live but they ignored it until all of the sudden players had millions in ill gotten gold and ZOS panicked and did the only roll back ever in ESO. To fix the problem, the code now deletes before verifying. This, relatively often, leads to lost items or gold. To the best of my knowledge, it has remained in this broken state unaddressed for the 4 years since that emergency "fix."

    You should feel lucky that you have gotten items returned. I lost ~40 kutas a while ago and got nothing but the runaround from customer service. An add-on would be really nice that kept track of lost items for you and could interface with the help system to auto fill a ticket since I am often putting lots of items in a guild bank and probably usually don't notice when one is lost. I have probably lost numerous event motifs and recipes that are easier to just not notice than all the sudden not having any Kutas when you had many.

    I don't really expect ZOS will ever fix the gitchy as hell guild bank system because it has been broken with no address for so long now. With the items it looses, the refusal to transfer items much of the time, and the lack of stacking functionality, it really is a POS system. Yet, do to constant inventory issues, we are pretty much forced to rely on it a lot.
    I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

    As a guild GM with large guilds to run, I *HAVE TO* be able to rely on the guild bank for deposits to at least somewhat automate the raffle and donations. To have this as an unreliable system is completely ridiculous. I don't mean to sound impatient, but I've reported this repeatedly as have my guild members and I've not seen anything resolved, yet it's obvious that they can see when the issue happens and they refund those members; every member that was certain of a deposit has seen it refunded in the instance of this bug rearing its head.

    I encourage every guild member to report it for the sake of them understanding how often this happening. I hope that this additional exposure to the forums will encourage a positive result.

    I also nearly got kicked out of a guild because, for two weeks running, the game failed to log my deposits. Lost gold and almost lost guild. You can do better than this.

    I haven't agreed with anything posted here more. We developed an add-on to report bank deposits, as well, and that our members can't rely on this system with near 100% accuracy is just maddening. I have many members every week report this issue. I have another member that has had this happen so frequently that he made a tutorial on how to get your gold back (tinyurl.com/reportmissinggold).

    This issue has gotten worse as time has gone by, and it is beyond time to fix it. An easy solution in the meantime is to allow players to see THEIR OWN deposits on a guild bank, regardless of guild bank permissions. If this can't work because of the recent changes to guild bank permissions in order to curb bid spying, perhaps another solution to that problem is waranted. You've got a huge community of GMs and add-on devs that want to help solve this problem. We have a vested interest in creating and maintaining communities within ESO that make players want to stay here.

    Happens all the time and it's annoying. Maybe ZOS will rebrand this bug as a "feature" as well. Add a little thrill to a mundane task like depositing funds into the guild bank by not knowing if you'll lose the gold or not!

    We lost many Items that way and the Support refused to help!

    We cleaned up our guildbank 2 weeks ago.
    Many items were taken out, stacked and put back inside. Even the log showed the deposit!
    But the items never arrived inside the bank and gone missing! Gold, rare Styles and mats!

    Everything gone inside a black system hole!

    The Support told us they need a list with all missing items in it! That were hundreds of transactions, all had to be done manually since there is no simple export for us.
    Now we cant even go that far back inside the log and many items seem to be lost forever!

    This is ridiculous, they have all the data and could simple look at theire system!

    We provided the time, guilds, the account names involved, even some examples to look at !!!

    And they just refused to help!

    Perhaps @ZOS_GinaBruno can work some magic?

    The entire guild system needs an overhaul, from permissions to the way guild banks are set up.

    I feel as though the system was released without much thought.

    Yeah, for 2k crowns get 20% chance of sucessfull deposit up to 50k for 90% max to leave some room for RNG...

    As a GM it’s very frustrating when ppl claim they pay dues and it isn’t in history and you have to explain why. Doing this multiple times throughout the week takes a toll, and taking blame for the faulty system blows.

    Believe me, it‘s more frustrating that you CAN SEE the transactions, but the gold/items never show up.

    People can PROVE the made a donation, and nobody believes you!

    Wait. GMs can't confirm either?

    I just sent a message to my GM, and now I know what to expect.

    Can ZoS at least confirm transactions to try and get lost gold back?

    A few weeks ago, I donated 50k to my guild and have no "receipt" for it. It wasn't listed in the guild transaction, but it definitely was removed from my account.

    Yeah a lot of times it doesn’t show that people deposit. I’ve also did a few test with just a few gold and if you can see the bank total when you deposit a lot of times it doesn’t change the bank total for a few seconds, sometimes even up to 10 seconds. Now depending on guild ranks most ppl can’t see bank totals so when they deposit and just back out it doesn’t register every time but takes their gold. I even put it in my guilds MOTD to wait about 10 seconds after depositing gold to back out

    TY Anslay for bringing this up. I am in one of your guilds and this happened to me just last week. Made two separate deposits of 50k to the guild bank. Only one went through and was recorded. This isn't the first time for me either--in other guilds, I've had deposits from anywhere from 5k to 250k not get recorded and never got a response from ZOS regarding the bug reports I sent it. i really hate having to pester GMs and officers to see if my deposits went through--it's a waste of everyone's time. I just want to support my guild and not see gold that I have made an effort to earn in-game just vanish.

    well she posted something mentioning itll be fixed after summerset but she decided to delete the post for some reason it said alot of bugs weve been yelling about for awhile are gonna be fixed. but its like she wasnt suppose to say it which was odd

    Their entire policy on giving players updates on bug fixes is really weird. They are so few and far between that their selective responses to bug reports leave no rhyme or reason to riddle out.

    Me too, I can say happened at least six time to me in the last 2-3 months. Sometimes I get me money back others I don't. It's frustrating not only for me but for the guild too. This needs to be addressed ASAP!

    yea i know which is why i found it weird she said it would be fixed after summerset and poof the post gets deleted shoulda screenshotted it so apparently she wasnt suppose to say it.
