New Memento: Bot Bane

Greetings Forum Dwellers!

I'd like to propose a new, free memento: Bot Bane
Upon activation from quickslot, a circle template with 8 to 12 meter diameter appears; caster moves the template to the desired location and activates using 'e' (or whatever keybinding you have for activate).
Fun graphic happens, the @names of everyone in the group are returned in the form of a chat d() or in game mail.
Now the user has a list of every account in the mob to report at their leisure.
In the background, the memento can flag a moment in server history for future investigation into reported abuse.

Please utilize this thread to discuss incorporating bot-busting mechanics into the game to expedite their removal; they destroy the in-game economy, and steal money from ZOS (gold farmers selling gold on the internets; it's money that should have gone to the crownstore)

Note: I feel that this thread belongs somewhere between 'mechanics' and 'bug report', so I'm posting it in general discussion.
dataOutput ={ }
function: ConvertMagica (dataOutput, magicaInput, skill,fn)
>>> if skill then do
>>>>>> magicaInput = fn(skill)
>>>>>>table.insert(dataOutput, magicaInput)
>>>end
end

    On PC, I used this add-on to report bot swarms:http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1818-BotScanner2000.html Your suggestion seems a good way to extend that to consoles.

    But ultimately, all reporting is useless unless ZOS steps up their responses to reports, removes bot trains, and monitors the usual locations. Even when an actual ZOS Gamemaster went through and eliminates the trains some months back, the bots were back in a matter of days since there was no sustained response.

    Played mabinogi year ago they had an ad- item that when used on a bot they'd be hit with a are you a robot prompt if they couldnt answer it it booted them for 48 hours and reported them for reviewing. Could only be ised on accounts spamming text and idle for more than 3 hours

    Its a stretch to say this is stealing money from ZOS since most of the things people use gold to buy are not for sale in the crown store anyway. That being said, it could be a useful feature for more than just reporting people

    Thanks, but no thanks.

    I don't see any issues with bots. Most are just out of their way and don't interfere with my quests.

    I disagree. Earning gold takes time and grinding of one form or other (buying and re-selling is a grind of its own).
    The majority of items in the crownstore help grease the gears of grinding. If someone is willing to drop $$ for virtual gold, they'd be willing to drop $$ to make the earning of virtual gold less tedious (assuming they don't have the option of just buying the gold).
    If my above assumptions are true, then gold farmers who sell virtual currency for actual currency are stealing from ZOS.

    You are not involved in the game to understand how bad they are for the game. People who aim higher than questing understand the issue, I advise you to stay away from posts when you dont understand why its bad.
    Magicka sorcerer from start until the end. Always. Through the good times and the bad, even now when its probably saddest PvE dps it has ever been.
    Even as an owner of one radiant apex mounts I am against radiant apex mounts and anything thats not obtainable by direct purchase.

    Oh HECK no. People would just use it to harass and troll innocent people to try to get them banned. They'd go to the middle of Rawl'kha and use it on the people using the outfit stations, or if they're in a PUG and get mad at the group, they'll use it on the entire group while they're fighting a boss.

    Trust me, if people CAN abuse something, they will. At least with the current method of reporting, they can only do it to one person at a time. With that, they can report a dozen people at once just to make themselves laugh. Of course, I think anyone who'd abuse it to report innocent people needs to be banned, themselves, though.

    I feel that you are missing something; ZOS has a responsability to investigate the people reported, having a server flag would just make it easier for them to investigate each individual. If someone went willy nilly reporting folks, I feel it would be discovered without wrongful bans occuring. if 30 bots are casting the same spell in an 8 meter radius, I’m certain that would be distinguishable from a Zerg Rush in PvP.
