So IMO the new changes to Dragon Knight coming in Summerset are vastly disappointing if not plain stupid. The focus is allowing each class to be able to function all roles a lot better so we don't have the same old only DKs will either DD or Tank and only Templars will either DD or Heal.
On the PTS thread I proposed two changes to bring a IMO better way to function as a healer instead of the current sloppy & outright disrespectful changes made to the class I love.
Change #1: Igneous shield will give a stronger shield to allies while retaining the 200% shield applied to the player. It will also re-gain it's 6-7s major mending buff but upon using Igneous shield, it will apply an instant heal to allies when the shield expires or is broken. The heal I feel should be around 4k (base value on a magicka spec).
Change #2: Cauterize will now Heal two targets including the caster. When holding the button/key cauterized is tied to, it will high-light up to two allies until they're out of range. They will remain high-lighted even if the skill is no longer active but until the caster deselects them.
I believe these two changes alone will allow Mag DKs to become a more sought after healer as they will be able to target heal two players e.g Tank/off tank, Tank/healer,etc. Igneous will be able to take some damage off of allies while giving them a heal & as a healer you always want major mending up on strong fights, so this will serve as a mass heal for large-scale events.
Thoughts?
Current changes proposed for the final Summerset update
Cinder Storm (Ash Cloud morph): This morph now increases the healing done.
Shattering Rocks (Petrify morph): This morph has been redesigned so that when the stun ends, it causes the enemy’s next attack to heal their target.
