in pts 4.0.4 it now procs on direct damage only and having 15% chance means you could possibly do 8 attacks and not proc it ruining the whole setup.

I think this will hurt a lot of builds, but I think its fine, that one set was in almost every build now.

Good think I just switched to TFS an Morag Tong on my StamDK

@Bigevilpeter Yup, on a mag character you're pretty much forced into using Force Pulse should you want to have similar uptimes (from what I've heard), on a stam character my guess is using Rapid Strikes which will hurt quite a bit too. Moving back to my Hunding/VO & Juli/BSW for now I think.

I didn't craft it, I just stayed with Julianos & Hunding since it didn't seem like a huge improvement to the classes I played; those builds already have 55-60% spell critical and 62-68% weapon critical, and mostly rely on DoTs so would have not gotten much of a boost, even in the current, not-yet-nerfed state.

Shouldn't be that bad when you're weaving though. Totally enjoying this set with my stamsorc hybrid.

Well, the Mechnical Acuity set allows me to use magicka skills and ultimates effectively since it also boots your spell crit to 100%. As I said, it wont be an issue since I weave a lot.

With the changes to 2H weapons it will make it somewhat easier to switch sets on the fly.

My plan is to use Hundings/Julianos as my base gear (5 pieces gear). Then you have helm/shoulder slots.
Then you can use 3 jewelry/weapons to make the second set for a 5-5-2 combo.

Want to switch sets..then just switch out jewelry/weapons. Very easy to do with overland/crafted stuff although it will be a while to accomplish that on the crafted with jewelry research.
Plus it takes up less bank space.

Honestly... thank you for that. Once every single DD build you see suggests nothing but one set, no matter if they're stamina or magicka, then it can safely be assumed that the aforementioned set didn't get nerfed, it just got brought down from "stupid good and killing any chance at coming up with personal preferences" to "you can go for this if it suits your build".

it's not nerfing the set, it's making it way less usable by PVEers, since they use dots and aoes. in PVP it'll still be op because most attacks are direct.

I run MA/Moondancer on my MagBlade. MagSorc is still gold Julianos/Infal. I never wanted to jump on the acuity bandwagon because it didn't seem plausible to have a BiS crafted set on both Stam and Mag. So I just did epic gear and golded out my staves. I'll switch to Juli/Moondancer on MagBlade for Summerset.

It is nerfing by definition. The fact that it will have less impact on PvP is something else.
And yeah, it was to be expected.

I always find it funny when they nerf the flavor of the week sets. What did you think was going to happen when you copy everyone else's build? Think outside the box or accept the nerf hammer, up to you.

62-68% crit is a little on the high side. If it's that high, I'd start thinking of maybe adding +weapon damage. You want to keep crit around 50%.

Not really, light weaving is direct damage. It'll still work just not as frequently as before thats it.

If you think this set was/ is a trash set in pvp...you obviously have never used it.

Let me ask, have you ever attempted to actually burst a full shielded sorc? Possible...but not for most players built to duel or 1vX.

You wait until the first shield is about to fall off, then boom if acuity procced with the CC. He's just about done acuity does make it more difficult sure. But you better not underestimate a magplar running acuity and sweeps while ur down. Those crits add up even on a fully impen toon. An unshielded sorc? Yeah...it hurts. Most of ur damage is tuned around 6 seconds.

You hit him first, proc acuity, work him a little bit with acuity procced, keep workin him slowly, about half health acuity should proc again then you still have enough time for a dark flare or purifying light, a vamps bane, and two casts of sweeps and then radiant. It's powerful. Has counter yeah. But the tradeoffs are not as bad as you would think.

I wear five heavy acuity, pirate skellie and war maiden. Sometimes I drop for soulshine, sometimes I drop pirate for skoria.
Ultimately it's awesome, keep going back to the setup

If you use a MagSorc Force Pulse build then you should be fine with the direct damage that it causes. As for Pet Sorc's, nope, you gotta find something use. And Stamina builds will be fine with new Arms of Relequen set since it's BiS and is direct damage.

I used Hundings as my main set when I first cleared vMA. It is indeed a great beginner set and has helped me immensely in PvE.

As for the main Topic here: If one set is completely dominant in a given setting, it comes as no surprise that it will be tuned down just a bit to try and make other setups more viable, since it is much easier to nerf one thing than to buff dozens of others.

    What is is now:

    * (5 items) When you deal damage, you have a 15% chance to gain unerring mechanical vision for 5 seconds, causing your attacks to always be a Critical Strike. This effect can occur once every 18 seconds.

This set is now ruined for PvP. It looks like Summerset will just be another string of nerfs to existing gear and buffs for new gear. Is Sload's Semblance nerfed yet? Of course not, its new gear.

This will cost me about 15 pieces of gold gear. I have lost more gear at once due to "balance" changes. Pretty sure I deconed about 25 gold pieces of TBS a few years back. It is what it is. It's clear that they are not capable of adding powerful sets beyond hundings and julianos. Every time, they get beat with a nerf hammer eventually. A nerf was coming, but this set pretty much went to useless on most PVE builds. It now cant be front barred, and basically requires FP. So non-pet sorcs and maybe templars, that's about it.

This set was great to gank with on a MNB. A heavy attack with an enchant destro reach into a soul assault made most people crumble. Especially medium armor or stamblades. If your ganking someone with a shield in the first place you already messed up.

Made this set for ganking the day it came out.
