Which weapons on Magicka Nightblade?

So I’ve levelled a dark elf magblade to 50, roughly 500cp. I’ve been having a lot of fun, but don’t want this character to feel too similar to my dps magsorc. Will probably be having more of a focus on pvp than pve but will most likely try both
At the moment I’m having some issues choosing what weapons to main with.

I’d like to DW as it just looks better than staff imo and as a bonus I’ve seen that the highest dps checks this patch are on DW Magblades(?), however I wouldn’t know what to pair it with (vMA destro?).

Most players seem to recommend a Destro / Resto set up. I’ve also seen players recommend 2h over DW, although I think this is for healing on vigour for stam builds?
I’ve seen alcasts double destro build

I do find Destro / Resto much better for survivability (as it’s the only setup on this char I’ve used to successfully solo world bosses), but probably not necessary as I get more used to the class.

I’m half tempted to run destro / bow in pve as I have both vMA weaps and could use all the dots, but both of those aoes with twisting path could be too many ground moves to manage..

Currently wearing absolute cheese, 2x Zaan, 5x caluurion and either 4 or 5 piece spinners depending on whether I’m DW or not. Haven’t slotted regen as I haven’t really noticed sustain issues..

Bar 1 Destro
Funnel health, blockade, shadow image, reapers mark, shadowy disguise
Bar 2 Resto
Debilitate, twisting path, merciless resolve, siphoning attacks, regen.

Bar 1 DW
Concealed Weap, merciless resolve, shadow image, drain power, shadowy disguise
Bar 2 destro
Funnel health, blockade, twisting path, siphoning attacks, reapers mark

Destro/bow would be a combo of the same but with the bow aoe and losing debilitate/concealed weapon

So, any suggestions or builds others have been trying?

First of all I do not understand your build at all, look like you are trying to be hybrid pvp/pve.

I would change caluurion for something else, warmaiden, scathing mage, julianos, spellweave, innate axiom, acuity I would deem better than caluurion for pve.

destro/destro in pve or dw/destro, you could go destro/dw+resto if you have a hard time solo.

You said you wanted to be more focus on pvp probably.

for pvp I would put on lich on back/frontbar or some sustain set and then another set + monster.

I would recommend 2h/resto, because 2h get rid of snares and mnb with snare is not funny at all. There are some who stream on twitch from time to time that do mnb without 2h, you can check that out if you want to see how it is.

For your skills, in pvp blockade, twisting path, are useless, unless you build to tank in one place. I would choose crippling grasp instead of debilitate.

I would find space for fear, atleast one of the these shields: annulment and/or healing ward. regen is nice but I would rather have healing ward.

Go for something and try if you don't like it or feel it is bad change it up.

The reason people run 2H is for the snare immunity that Forward Momentum provides.

You’re right I did have a mix in there, mainly because I’ve been levelling a lot of the skills and this build alows me a quick gank up front. The damage with caluurion proc and either concealed blade or funnel health, with a light attack is about 35k which is nice for quick burst at the beginning of a fight for pve or pvp starting out and I have been mainly open world hence the ground dots.
But fair enough! I’ll keep farming those skill points and try out some parses on the dummy.
Have to say it feels like a huge change going from magsorc to magblade, but I guess I’m probably just too comfortable double slotting destro for dps

Double inferno in PvE, Inferno front bar, restoration back bar PvP. Be sure to slot a destro staff ability on each bar for the former in order to get the 8% damage bonus from Ancient Knowledge. I don't know for PvP since there are quite a few viable setups, but for PvE the bar setup I would use would look somewhat like:

Twisting Path | Impale | Funnel Health* | Merciless Resolve | Inner Light || Elemental Rage*
Elemental Blockade | Crippling Grasp | Degeneration** | Siphoning Strikes | Harness Magicka*** || Soul Harvest

*if using Force Pulse as spammable you can instead slot Shooting Star - that will build up even more ultimate, and do a ton of damage since you are Dark Elf, and hence have a bonus damage to flame abilities.
**if you are using spell power potions you can slot a Minor Force skill there, like Lightweight Trap or Channeled Acceleration
***if you want to play full YOLO mode w/o shield double slot Inner Light for more damage on back bar

Nearly levelled my 2h and Resto staff to full so I’ll get the passives in and probably experiment a bit this weekend
