Want equivalent of Princely Dawnlight Palace for Summerset. How come we only get a townhouse?!

Just previewed the Princely Dawnlight Palace. Wow, impressive. We need an equivalent for High Elves!

The townhouse is nice but not as grand as the Palace.

The ship with cave is not elegant as High Elves would have made it. The boat should be High Elf styled not the regular pirate's boat we've already seen in game. The cave that comes with it could have been more grand.

High Elves should have the most extravagant house, cave and ship in game. Or at least as grand and not second (or third) best.

ESO please correct this massive oversight! Thank you.
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
The high elves are suppose to be the oldest race and most elegant yet the furniture is sub par. The town house is nice as an average home but there definently should be a grand home fitting the high elf stature. Summerset is the nicest land yet but the house aka the cave as you said is a joke. It has nothing to do with the high elves. they only just opened there boarders yet the cave is just like the rest of the game from the other races. why is it not an elegant elfen ship with elfen buildings. They could have made a grand estate in the cave with an estate owned grand elf ship, but no, just a cave with no hose and a generic boat. What a cop out zos did. They did not design it just took bits from else where in the game. Then they will charge real money for a lazy piece together cave and say it is worth it. Not when they are to lazy to actually work on it. Pathetic.
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
    oops some typos.....hose is house

Yes, it seems they are not consistent with their effort for the High Elves. I am blown away by the Palace being offered now in game. Would have loved to be wowed for a High Elf Palace, Ship and cave!
The concept is cool to have a ship and cave. Would not spend any crowns, gold or real cash on it. It is really not very much. extremely underwhelming. Very disappointing.
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
Yes the cave is just an average boat...small...and a cave with a bunch of stairs and terraces with nothing there. A lot of hype for it but no effort went into it. only worth the same as a small house since that is the size of the boat.

Yes, very disappointing. I hope they will take the time to make it exceptional for us by next month. Come on ESO, you can to it!
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
I look at the fabulous work the designers did in summerset and all the hard work they did to make it so special ...then look at they lazy copy and paste job the guy did with the cave house, and think that if I was Zos I would really look into what this guy is really doing since he obviously did not even talk to the other designers to find out what the style of summerset was and try to make it match the high elf decor. It looks like he woke up from his napping and went ...oh my god...IMy project is do in an hour..I better just cut and paste a cave together before the dead line.
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
Almost like he does not have to do much effort in design because Daddy owns the company and he cannot be fired.

I agree, I was blown away when I looked around the Summerset cities. Elegant.

Then they only give us a townhouse. I want an equivalent to the Princely Dawnlight Palace! They skimped for the high elves. Please offer better for gold house purchases.

It seems they hired High Elves to build Summerset city and then outsourced the ship and cave to an Orc who had never left his village! He did not know just how elegant and sophisticated high elves are.

Why are the dungeons and ruins in Summerset so much nicer than the ship and cave being offered in housing?!

Can we get the same team that did Summerset city to do the ship and cave?

Visually, the ship and cave is out of place. Does not belong in Summerset at all.

It would be nice to have a grand high elf manor built into the cave.

Question: why is there a broken ship in the middle of our waterfall in this cave?! Yuck. Again, out of place. this is not a junk yard.

Overall, we need more high quality High Elf items throughout the game.

Pretty much what everyone else said lol. There are so many places they could've wowed us with upon SS release but they chose a cave and a cramped washed out townhouse. like really? look at this elegant home.

I am in agreement regarding a manor on Summerset Isle. Though perhaps that will come at a later time. I mean, Princely Dawnlight Palace and Linchal Grand Manor came awhile after the Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood DLC's. It would make sense for a manor on Summerset Isle to come at a later time as well. Besides, releasing two manor homes so close together would be jerkish to everyone's wallets and/or bank accounts. So ZO$ doe have SOME consideration for our finances.

Also, what I find interesting is that I just saw people complaining about not having a medium-sized home in Abah's Landing instead of a palace, with them claiming ESO has too many manors. As someone who would like seeing a manor on Summerset Isle in the future, I fully expect too see one eventually and am glad that I'm not the only one who enjoys manor homes.

THAT would make an amazing manor home on the isle! :3

Either way, I'm just glad that ESO seems to know how to handle their High Elves. That's not something everyone can say. I mean, Blizzard sure can't.

It is possible, indeed probable, that there may be more properties on Summerset and in that style that we do not know about yet.

All of the cats may not be out of the bag.

Please do not put cats in bags.

id pay 14k crowns for a house like that. The cove is too big to furnish, but a manor? I could do it more decently

There was a good comment that perhaps we will be getting a proper High Elf Manor in the future. Certainly hope so.

In the meantime, please tweak the Ship and Cave offering to reflect the Summerset theme. High elves are not pirates "roughing" it in some broken down cave, hmph! It does not belong in Summerset at all.

Praying for some fantastic High Elf furnishing pattern drops! Especially for those of us who love, love the game but do not have unlimited cash to buy every little thing to make an impressive home. LOL, I'm look at me, I'm getting my husband to "play house" with this wonderful addition of housing and furnishing in ESO. Love it.

    I'm a bit surprised.

People have been begging for a ship since housing came out. Some even found a hole in Daggerfall Overlook that let them furnish a ship.

Others have been asking for more non-notable homes.

Yet when ZoS chooses to short the dirty elves a notable in favor of meeting some of those wishes, the horror!

I love that ZoS finally brought out a Ship and Cave housing. They just did not make the effort to follow the theme of Summerset and High Elf style. A total mismatch. Love what they've done in the city. Would love the follow through for their Ship and Cave.

I think if the ship/cave/thing was somewhere else than in SS, it would be fine. I do find it a bit strange that they introduced this notable with SS, except I think the ruins are supposed to be Ayleid? If so, that part, at least makes sense.

Since there are already 2 notables in the Gold Coast (Erstwhile and Linchal), it's entirely possible there will be another notable released in SS in the future.

I am one of those disappointed with the lack of a medium-sized home in SS, as there was with MW. I was also disappointed that there was no small home with MW, but at least there was a medium. Not everyone can afford the large homes, even with in-game gold. Why are the only options in SS an inn room or a large house? Nothing in-between?

And, I'd love to see small/medium homes in the DLC areas, too. Plus, Wrothgar is in need of some love in terms of housing, only having the ginormous Pariah's Pinnacle.

ZOS is ALWAYS going to crank out notables, since people still seem perfectly fine dropping 14k+ crowns on them. But, smaller homes would be greatly appreciated in those same zones.

I agree with Jayne Doe, I would also appreciate more reasonably priced homes for us players who do not have huge gold stash or crowns to buy the giant properties (wished I could but not a reality for me). So a good selection for all price points would allow all players at different financial levels to enjoy housing and decorating. I am having so much fun with this so thanks ZOS! Also, please please more drops on elegant High Elf patterns!
Oh and would love patterns for the amazing bridges, waterfalls, ponds with swimming fish and water lillies I see around Summerset! Patterns for water features (lakes, ponds, waterfalls, rivers). My wish list!
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
I still believe that this cave notable home is a cop out of a lazy designer. Yes they should have smaller homes for those who are not rich and cannot afford the crown only homes. As usual they cater the the rich and forget the poorer players. Notables are fine but they should not be limited time offers as someone with not as much free cash has no chance to ever get one. even if they save their crowns to get it, it is over before they can collect enough crowns. Ok add these crown only homes but make they always available so those that really want it can save up for it. And before someone comes out with the boggus reason that ZOS has to make money to pay the designers crap...the millions of users that pay for the game and pay for subscriptions and pay for all the crowns....you are talking hundreds of million dollars for which to pay a miniscule amount to designers.

I would definitely save up for some of the notable crown homes if only they did not make it a time limited item.
Yes, there is no way I would ever be able to obtain any of these homes as I only receive 1500 crowns a month for my ESO Plus membership. I cannot afford to buy crowns outside of my membership.
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
Oh yes yes yes to your wish list...would be totally awsome
  • mjstevenson1.msb16_ESO
They seem to have made new pattern drops very rare. Almost to the point that they are none existent. I have had no new area patterns drop for me from VVardenfell at all. The only ones I have is the ones I bought. If somerset turns out to be the same, it will take all the fun out of the housing side of the game. Even the old area patterns have become rare drops. What will be the point of getting the housing if they make it too hard to get the patterns to furnish them.

Pretty sure there’s going to be an Artaeum home, which is a large, fancy 700-furnishing manor. Don’t really remember where I saw the info on it though :/

I'm just hoping the townhouse has a sane price. I can't afford the huge manors for crowns or gold, nor could I properly fully furnish them thanks to the cap. I -love- the townhouse, it's an entirely feasible grand city home. But I fear even it will cost too much for me, so I certainly am glad they didn't only release an enormous estate.

From what I have read in various places, The townhouse will cost around 1 mil gold, And probably 6-8k crowns.

It would be a rip off. Compare what you can get for 1 mil: Amaya Lake Lodge or Hundings Palatial Hall. And some small townhouse for 1 mil? Nah, I would consider price around 400-500k gold or 5-6k crowns more suitable

The townhouse is pretty huge inside. And location plays a part in the price too. A house in the city has its own charm.

I've been looting like crazy trying to save up for the Summerset Townhouse. Now that people have pointed out just how over priced it is , I am rethinking whether I want to throw away over 1 mil gold on it. I've put in a lot of time into getting towards this amount.

I cannot afford the furnished crown purchase so it will be an empty townhouse. Plus with the rare furnishing pattern drops, it will take forever to make it look half decent.

Dear ZOS, Please, please reduce the price of this sweetly elegant but small townhouse. Otherwise, create a mansion with water features and beautiful grounds for the 1 mil gold.

Also, would love ability to purchase wildlife (sheeps, chickens, etc to roam around my property) along with different types of NPC toons to place in and around house. Make it happen!

I was initially super excited about the ship, as were many people. Then we went and saw it. It's incredibly underwhelming, regardless of its location. What we WANTED was an amazing ship. What we GOT was yet another lazy copy/pasta that is poorly designed to begin with. We're not upset that this notable home took the slot that should have gone to a High Elf notable home....we're upset that the offering itself, pretty as it is on the surface, is incredibly sub par. It's nothing like what anyone asked for. And it's definitely not worth a hundred bucks or better.
