    Leery.

Why? Because I think I would have too high expectations and be sitting there grousing about inconsistencies and the like.

Well, Assassin's Creed did it too, and think about what a mess that movies was, especially because it was focusing on that part of the "gameplay", which most didn't care for and gave us not much of what people really liked in the games - result: failure. And this could happen to a TES movie as well, because there is no common focus on what TES actually is. What basically means, it would be hard to please the majority of players and it might fail just as the AC movie did.

The cinematics looked pretty awesome! It would have to be very action based, I don't think much of the lore would translate well into a movie.

The only way I could see this work is if done during something like a war, such as the Great War, where the outcome is fixed, and player involvement is pretty much non-existant.

The only problem that arises with the Great War is that a player character does, at one point, get involved in it.

But, as I said, doing one based on a war seems by far the most likely. Perhaps the failed invasion of Akavir by Uriel Septim V, perhaps the Blackwater War, or the Nord-Falmer war.

Anything with a fixed outcome, really. The rest would be too dangerous to work with.

But think about the cinematics of ESO - the game intro, you can choose in the character selection screen to be played again I mean. Is that really what ESO looks and feels like in the game?- IMO it is nothing like the game actually is - at least from my perspective and seen from my focus, it isn't.

Only if we actually get khajiit characters in the movie. All of the cinematics for eso have left them out.
    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer

I don't think there is enough time in a movie to cover a story like TES. It's never been about one awesome moment. It's about watching a character journey through a world over time. Something like this might be better explored in a TV series which has more time to explore the world and lore and those are the strengths of TES.

    A movie ?

The Alliance Wars PVP one would go like this.

80 minutes of loading screens, then it crashes, roll credits

But why would I want to watch that on TV or in a cinema - I could just watch a play through series of a good player, who plays in a similar way than I do. The problem I see is, that TES gameplay and even more ESO gameplay is something different for any person - the "play as you want" fires back here, there is no common ground about what TES/ESO is really about.

Just... no. Most games wouldn't covert to film well. What's good in a video game is usually good because of large amounts of content. Something like the Elder Scrolls on film would obviously have to focus on one tiny aspect of a world we know a ton of lore about, and they would also likely chop that lore to shreds to fit a 2 hour film plot.

Why does the new Tomb Raider franchise work and the trailer alone for the new film look awful? Because what works in video games doesnt always work believably in films.

Remember Mortal Kombat anyone? That movie was atrocious. It's a solid fighting game franchise. But how to you translate a fighting tournament where you essentially murder everyone you face to win into a film where you are not inclined to kill off your entire cast?

There's like a 2 second clip of Razum-dar's face in the Summerset teaser and its pretty obvious they broke the budget on his fur.

Yeah, wow did it and it didn't go over well. Fans went to see it because they played the game and knew the lore.
Someone who never played wow would not understand the story behind the movie.

Movie NO what we need is tv shows of games like this so it can start off slow and tell the story movies have to cut to much and change allot of backstorys or pretty much every thing-dragon ball-

btw wow made less than 100mil in U.S and cost 160mil budget not counting actor pay so so they needed over 450mil to brake even and counting the sales of other country's they still fell short by 20mil or so basically a flop on the state side tho a minor
successes in other country's like china

I will take a T.V show with at lest the production value of Game of thrones

game franchises turned in to movies...

    not exactly a successful endeavour.

    would i watch it? no.

for the same reason i wouldn't pay to watch people watch a film or eat or watch a sport.

because these are things i can do, and enjoy, myself.

It is easy, you can eat, or attack other countryes cus they are a thing that you can do, and enjouy, yourself. You wont pay for watch other people watch a movie or watch a sport, you do it,and enjoy, yourself. Same as a videogame, you play for watch decapitate a guy, and you need to pay for it, then, you must do not pay for watch decapitate a guy cus is a thing you can do yourself, other thing if you must. But the fact is that you pay for eat,do sport and play a videogame,so you need to pay for watch a movie.
