I suspect if I didn't have 17 houses and a motif addiction that I would have more :|

Same. Most of my money is invested in land (read: houses), and an extensive wardrobe

I have around 3.5M right now. If it weren't for the Coldharbour house and buying a bunch of motifs during the anniversary event, I would probably be closer to 7M in gold at this point.

Down to 2 million after buying my wife the Ebonheart Chateau. Gotta start grinding the guild traders again and let things sell while I occupy my time with a different game for a little while.

I reached over 4 mil in raw gold last this past week; but, then I spent over 1.25 mil in motifs last night and today alone.

Yes, hello, fellow motif buyers, I too, have a problem. You're not alone.

But in hundreds of legendary crafting materials, 7.5mil AP on hand and 450k Telvar on hand, and other in-game items and valuables. If I sold everything, I'd probably be around 10 mil in gold, or more.
I have a lot of 'equity' built up between account/character-investments like bank/inventory upgrades, mounts at 60/60/60 across all 9/9 of my characters. I also own the Linchal Grand Manor, with another 17,700 crowns currently on me to spare.

Maybe 20-100k at any given time, I only ever had more than that once (was saving up for one of the 350k houses, I got to like 200k and then respecced a few characters and went back to zilch).

I think right now my main (warden) has like 30 or 35k, my templar has around 16k, and the other characters are all at around 4-6k tops. Dont have anything in the bank at the moment.

Sales arent doing so good lately.

12m in cash. With hoarded stuff it could go upto 20m/ish.

But i spend like crazy, spent over 7m to just Daggerfall Overlook. Even just for trying i always gold out gear etc.

There was a time where gold meant something in game, these days all the cool stuff are either bind on pickup or crown exclusive.

I dunno, gold means a ton to me, there are all sorts of motifs I still need on my crafter (and that alone is a major investment)

Not broke, but reasonable - what is all that gold good for if it is just laying around?- It is just a number, nothing more, and those millionaires are working hard to increase that number - it's just a number, good for nothing but to pet their ego - if it isn't used, it is of not much worth - and if it would be used, they could not claim to have a few millions on their account - because the question was, how much gold do you have on your account - so they either have gold laying around (pretty much pointless) or they answered incorrectly.

to me it's obvious that liquid assets isn't merely worthless except for ego. it describes immediate purchasing power. i'll try to use an example many of us will be familiar with:

before the Anniversary Event, we didn't know the drop rates for the Worm Cult motif. we had a vague relative description, and luckily for most of us (all but the most hardcore traders) i think it was higher than it sounded. still, there were many people who tried their best and wanted the complete Motif and weren't able to farm it.

if those people had enough gold laying around, their immediate purchasing power would enable them to complete the Motif despite their bad luck, without having to list other assets for sale below market value and hope that someone bites before the availability of the desired items dries up.

someone else, let's say a billionaire, might not follow the site and just got back from vacation 2 days before the event ended. their immediate purchasing power would enable them to buy up the entire Motif without feeling too stressed about it, if they wanted to.

of course not everybody liked or wanted that particular motif, but it still illustrates the freedom that liquid assets allow.

it's like if you spend all your money building a custom engine for your car, and then when you drop it in it snaps your frame, well, you're not driving to work to make the money to fix that problem. if you had kept some in the bank you can deal with emergencies and even afford some fuzzy dice for the new car.

i'm not saying either approach is inherently wrong. i'm saying one allows for more freedom and flexibility, which has nothing to do with ego.

Most ive had at once was 1.1mil. If I saved longer, I'd easily have 3-5mil. I just tend to go crazy with my gold when I have a lot, particularly with furnishing which drains gold rapidly. Housing\Furnishing is by far the most gold consuming activity in ESO, especially if you focus on notable or large size houses. I'll have been playing for one year this coming June.

I don't need to estimate in the poll ranges, I know I have a little over 200K on my main courtesy of doing the daily writs for boxes and around 10K on each of 6 alts. So much more than the under 40K I had for so long! Even if it's peanuts to anyone able to reliably sell to other players.

Been playing since early access but I'm lazy and spend money faster than I make it (same is true irl to be honest). Only recently made my second million and now that's waiting in the bank to buy the town house when Summerset launches and then I will be broke again. Also RNGeesus hates me so I have to buy rare motifs and furnishing plans at eye-watering prices.
