Gold Mats from daily writs - droprate

Hello,

I've been doing crafting writs on my alts for about 4 weeks now. They are all on level 1 (just my main is on max level). On my alts there aren't dropping any gold mats, only on my main. does anyone know if gold mats only drop on max level?
I wanna do writs on all chars so I have a better income, but if I max them all out, it's gonna be very expensive to buy wood etc. for all of them to be able to do the writs daily.

    I get gold mats drops from not maxed out crafting writs. I don't remember if I got them from level one writs, but today I got them from a level four writ.

    I occasionally get gold mats from level 1-5 writs on my alts. My main, who is also my crafter, has everything maxed out and receives at least one gold mat most of the time I hand in all of my writs for that day. I think either having all the passives and/or knowing a lot of motifs may increase these drop-rates (as is the case with motif knowledge increasing the drop-rate of master writs on highest-tier writ rewards), but I'm not sure about gold mats..

    I have all 15 characters maxed out on 10/10 for Blacksmithing, Clothing, and Woodworking. I do the crafting writs on them all and running out of materials is a non-issue. You get a lot of Surveys and when you collect all the same material it makes it easier to manage than having to juggle multiple tiers.

    From our recent writ stats we have the following numbers:
    • Gold Temper Chance (Max Level) = 25-30%
    • Gold Temper Chance (Level 1) = 1%

    We don't have very good numbers on mid-level writs but it looks like an even progression from 1-25% chance for gold tempers per writ.

    You do get Gold Tempers from L1 Writs, they are just rare. Hirelings seem to do better for those at L1, but it is still not a great drop rate.

    Your best most consistent over time source for Gold Tempers is to refine raw mats.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
