The pricey dawnlight palace is good and all but...

I really dislike how zos keeps releasing these homes the size of palaces but refuses to increase the item slots. I personally was tempted to buy this amazing home, but with the current housing slot limit I have, I am going to have to pass. Plus they keep releasing these amazing housing packs and having to replace some of my already placed furniture really is a disappointment. please zos raise the housing limit.

This was asked, and, no, Housing Slots are not due an increase.

The reason was given as a Technical one, related to the consoles (and I am guessing lower end PC's). The exact reason was not revealed. I know the devs want to give more slots, they just can't.
Please give pc atleast the slots, I don't even play on console.

I get no lag at 700/700 items. I find it hard to believe that increasing the cap would suddenly create lag.

    I would’ve bought it....
.... but the Crown Sale was only 20%.

Rip the home I really wanted.

I don't buy that excuse. But even if it were true, who cares? If someone has a *** computer, then don't use all the slots. Simple. But if someone has a *** computer, I'm pretty sure they won't care (or even notice) any FPS loss. Same thing for consoles. The game doesn't need to run 100% smooth in homes. Let players choose how many items they want to use, and whether they want to live with the lower FPS or not.

They're going to increase the item slot limit, don't worry. It's just that they're trying to figure out if they want to make it crown purchasable or lock it behind crown crates.

The item cap issue is very easy to understand. It’s simple why everything is set the way it is.

If you place 700 plates around your home, there will be no lag. If you place 700 giant trees or lights around your home, you will have lots of issues. The point I’ trying to prove is, the type of items you place all affect performance differently.

There is a cap set at 700 for the very purpose of prohibiting you from building everything you want. If you could, some people might build out their full creative ideas in one home, which has repercussions:
    1. They may like their home so much they stop worrying about other homes
    2. They fully flesh out their creative ideas and don’t need another home to build something cool
    3. They spend all their gold on one home

All of these disincentive future home purchases.

The 700 cap barely lets you decorate big homes, so you’ll pretty much make one “project” and buy a new home to make another project. Also if you aren’t subbed, you have 350 slots.... which is basically not enough to do anything. The tiny cap helps incentivize ESO+. Lastly furnishing plans are becoming insanely rare and some even ridiculously pricey to create, which helps incentivize buying furnishings for Crowns.

Those are the unfortunate reasons why housing is the way it is

I refuse to buy anymore crown exclusive homes, I would rather spend it for more housing slots

The solution to item cap is to break down the items (like they are labeled already) into small, medium, large and very large objects, and have an item cap for each.

I doubt that having 300 spoons is the same as having 300 animated fountains.

The palace is great, but the crown cost is exaggerated. The good thing is that all this is optional, you can enjoy ESO even without these pricey houses. Even more, with the new chapter there will be new, more desirable houses, so this is only for those who really want/need such a large estate.

Some companies charge 15 dollars per a month for 30 slots of housing in places no bigger then snugglepud and prices go up from there.

I’ve been complaining about this since housing was released, when even decorating the manors was difficult with 700 items! Now we have homes which are huge compared to those... There is a reason I only own one large home, and I own allot of homes!! I think ZOS would actually make allot more money if they raised the cap a bit, there are certainly several houses that I would have bought, had the item limits not been so restricted on them!
