An option to sell back unwanted Crown Items?

Would anyone else like an option to sell back unwanted Crown Items (excluding crown crate items) back for something such as crown gems in return? I have so much junk I’ve purchased over the years that I no longer use, since new stuff has came out. Just a thought.

Or at least trade. I'd be good with either/or.

I'd just be happy with the chance to convert to gems. I've so many light aesthetic effects (tattoos and whatnot) that I'll never use nor be able to see even if I did.

    I'd rather have gems.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Items I bought as a pack of 3 when only wanting 1 costume out of that pack, items I’ve bought way back that I no longer use, because I have a better one now...

We should get the chance to convert anything we got from the crate for gems. Opened up my event crate today and got a *** dog that I couldn't care less about (worth 16 gems). However, I would have been absolutely satisfied if I could have traded the dog for 16 gems

I look at those minor cosmetics more like achievements than something useful.

No, I don't think I'll wear that electric blue lipstick on any of my characters but I didn't have that slot filled. I actually wear one cosmetic crate reward on my main character -- the morag tong eye tattoo thing. I like how it looks under a hood. The rest...no thanks.

But it's all those non-combat pets I would love to be able to sell or trade for gems. I don't have any interest in them and wish there was a way to hide them completely...everyone's! And their combat pets as well.

I agree. Some of these items are completely worthless to people. They should allow people to sell them back.

I would just like to be able to use the gem extraction to get rid of thing I don't want from the crates like those silly helmets, Why am I forced to accept those when I can just use the gem extraction to break down all the potions. You should receive more gems for duplicates too.

It would be nice... for crowns or crown gems, doesn't matter, but every so often you get something you either have no use at all for from crown crates, or buy something at one point and replace it with something better a year later...
    ...however...
Not gonna happen. It would reduce the profits from crown srore
    ...that.
It would reduce their profits, so it will not be likely to happen... since whoever is making that decision probably likes keeping their job... ;)

I would like the option to sell back everything including pets and costumes on crown crates. I dont care about pets or costumes, would rather use gems on mounts or books, the only thing i like in crates.
As far as crown purchased items i dont think you should get the option to sell back. Just like a tattoo, you should of thought about how future you would like it.

This will NEVER happen. ZOS is driven by making money. Letting the player base return crown items for Gems means the players can use Gems (from returns) to buy new items from crown store. So, that means no $$$ flowing to ZOS, since players are using Gems.

Please don't get your hopes up. Unless you idea involves $$ profit for ZOS, it's not going to get off the ground,

Omg would be soooo awesome if we could get back crowns. I see no incentive for ZO$ to implement this feature however. :/

The whole point of crown crates is to make sure that you end up with more things that you don’t want than things that you want. As long as you are disappointed with your prize, you will have motivation to try again for a prize that you do want.

It’s a hateful but effective moneymaker; they are never, ever going to let you swap the prizes you don’t want for the prizes you do want - the whole point of the crate system is for you to spend real dollars on things you don’t actually want. It’s brilliant and despicable and it works.

I agree it would be awesome but it totally defeats the purpose of burying good prizes in loot tables full of crap, so yeah...

Not only that, but the world doesn't take back most of your used crap.

"Hey, I've been wearing this shirt regularly for three years, I'd like half of what I paid for it back."

This is such an entitled way of thinking. You should have thought about how much you would use the item before you bought it, and if you did actually use it often, too bad, you got yours out of it. Buyer's remorse isn't means for a refund, especially not weeks, months, or years down the road.

Having items in the Collections menu I never use bothers me because it makes it harder to find the ones I do use.

For me it's worst with hair styles - I bought the pack which unlocks all the base styles but I only use a few on each character and it can be annoying trying to find them in amongst all the others. It's less of an issue with other cosmetics because I never buy crown crates so I don't have loads of ones, but it's still mildly annoying that the free bug mount from Morrowind (which I never use) has pushed the White Mane Horse (which I do use) off the bottom of the screen so I have to scroll down to find it.

I understand ZOS will never let us sell them back (especially ones that were free to begin with), but it would be nice if there was a way to sort the menus beyond 'show useable'. What would be great for me is a way to mark certain collectables as favourites and have them appear at the top of the list.

    No.

Most damning reason why: Crown Sales (buying low, selling high)

Other reasons: If you have used it, don't expect a refund as you already have time with it, trade-in for a shiny new thing means that all the work on that new thing was essentially pointless, as it gave the devs nothing.

However, that does not mean that the bundle practices have been smartly made. (This is another topic)

A bundle should reduce the overall cost for a set of items (Giving the consumer incentive to purchase a 'better' deal and being more likely to spend more in one go), but said items should be made available to be purchased separately. Otherwise it isn't a 'bundle'

I would actually really like trade system. Like there is something similar in Fortnite called transformation. You put differnet kind of items together to get other items you would like. For example: You have 3-5 unwated apex mounts, you can exchange those for 1 of radiant apex mounts of your choice. ETC. Something like that would be really cool because I always get only the apex I dont want (bear, guar, camel) and never those that I would actually like.
Magicka sorcerer from start until the end. Always. Through the good times and the bad, even now when its probably saddest PvE dps it has ever been.
Even as an owner of one radiant apex mounts I am against radiant apex mounts and anything thats not obtainable by direct purchase.

It kind of reminds you of those toy claw machines.

I know people argue back and forth about whether or not they are gambling, because you do get something every time you buy one. But it is gambling, in my opinion, because you are gambling on getting what you want out of it.
