Bag Space or Bank Space?

So being a new player I always ask things to the group and get input before I hastily make a decision that I regret, so here is another one. I find myself lacking the needed space when I am out and about questing and what not. I have purchased Tythis, the banker, but am now realizing that even he is starting to fill up quickly while doing so. So I am curious, is it better to spend crowns on "bag" or "bank" space?

Or if nothing else what are some other ideas of managing inventory? I try to keep as much armor and what nots in order to deconstruct them in order to increase my crafting levels or perhaps that is not the best of ideas.

If you don't have ESO+ with the crafting bag, inventory becomes somewhat of a pain to manage. This is by design obviously to lure you into getting ESO+. I don't subscribe because I just don't want another monthly charge.

Some options you can do to max out your possible storage without subscribing.
1. Train your horse every day and upgrade carry capacity by 1. That is 60 extra slots. You need to do this on every character you have. It adds up.
2. Buy bank space and bag upgrades with gold.(Make sure to join a trader guild and start selling items to get your gold going)(You can also buy with crowns, but that seems costly to me.)
3. Take advantage of all of your extra 7 character slots. That's an extra 60 slots right off the bat and those can be all maxed to 200 as well.
4. Buy a house/apartment/etc., and purchase your in-home storage with writ vouchers(You can also purchase with crowns). You get writ vouchers from doing master crafting writ quests. You won't get hardly any of the master writ vouchers to drop until you have leveled up your crafting for individual crafts(Blacksmithing, Clothing, Woodworking, Provisioning, Alchemy, Enchanting). This storage is also not tied into your main bank storage, it is treated as separate and you will have to physically go to the home to access it. It's good for items that you aren't going to use every day. (Also I believe the new rewards system will unlock a storage chest at level 18 for you the first time you get to that point.
5. Take advantage when they run a special free ESO+ event. Get everything you possibly can into your crafting bag at that time. You will still have access to it when the event ends, you just can no longer place items into it without the sub.

Those are all of the ways that I can think of off the top of head to max my storage out. I've been in the game for 3 years so I have bought all the bag/bank/home storage with gold but I can see where this would be overwhelming for a new player. It is quite confusing. Just remember it is a big runaround designed to get you frustrated enough to sub to ESO+ for the crafting bag. You don't have to sub though if you learn how to manage your extra characters, max all of your bank and bag slots, and get your home storage going. Good luck!

Personal Bag Space is cheaper than Bank Bag Space, Horse Space becomes cheaper Bag Space after the first 3/4 Personal Upgrades, but you only get one a day.

What I do and most of us do this to an extent is role a Mule Character or Two. You can intend to play these later, so spend time on them and choose the Class and Race with care, or, you can say you will never play them and just roll them quickly. Give them the first 3 bag space upgrades and put excess swag on them. Might help to name the mules something like your account name style mats so mine would be Nestor Style Stones or Nestor Provisioning Mats etc

Then, you have to look at what your keeping. Really, you only need some Soul Gems, some Potions for Health or Weapon/Spell Damage, some Food or some Drinks. So, maybe 10 slots as an absolute essential to go adventuring. Figure out what Foods or Drinks your making and only keep ingredients for those, either sell the rest, or make the food or drink and vendor them. Same with Alchemy, figure out what flowers you use, and sell the rest. Recipes, either learn them or vendor or sell them. Same with Motifs. Gear, if your not wearing it or researching the trait later on, decon it to level crafting. Which of course gives you more mats, but, at least they stack. Also, you tend to get a ton of Enchanting Glyphs and they hide themselves in the Misc section, so either apply those to the armor/weapons you have, or decon those to level enchanting. Vendor all your Trophies both Monster and Fishing.

Note, selling means through a Guild Store, that may or may not also have a Kiosk. Join an active guild so you have a way to sell to other people and you can offload excess swag that way.

I have multiple "banking toons." I buy them bag space for reasonably cheap prices then load them up with mats. So both my main as well as my bank space is relatively empty. Aside from the multiple toons as well as re logging to get the items you need i think this method is value$$$$$.

Regarding your question I personally think you should buy both. There are diminishing returns for both anyway so its better to spread out the cost.

I would spend Crowns on Bank space, and train my mount everyday to get Bag space. Just my 2 cents worth

Bank is better as you can store trait items you need to learn there. And you gona store there loads.

9x for each armor/weapon in game = lots of bank space needed

Don't forget that ESO+ not only provides you with the indispensible crafting bag, but also double banking space. There are various other perks too, like double housing furniture slots (if you are into housing).

It is worth buying the first couple of bag and bank upgrades for gold, but after that it gets very expensive unless gold isn't an object. The cheapest way of doing it is to buy them with crowns from the Crown Store. 1000 crowns for ten extra slots.

Bank space doesn't disappear if you delete a character.
Never spend crowns on bag space, only bank space but avoid even that if you can.

There are better things to spend money on.

It took me almost 3 years to finally buy the last 5 bank space upgrades, with gold, but I made it work. Don't spend money on this game if you can avoid it because they charge too much.

If buying Crowns isn't an issue, go for bank space first since it's account wide and then use your daily stable trainings for capacity to gradually build up your bag size. If gold isn't an issue, then go for the character-by-character bag upgrades.

There is a bag upgrade vendor (has a little sign with a sack on it) in each capital city.

If you are looking at rapidly expanding your inventory, the best way to do that is with several alts and bag space (coupled with mount training). The first few bag upgrades on each toon are very cheap with gold. This is the least expensive way to get space quickly.

If you want to use crowns for space, I think the best way to do it is to start with gold to upgrade, as the first few are very cheap, even for the bank. Once you get to the point where you cant afford the gold, then use crowns to finish it off. The last few bank upgrades are rather pricey, but in the CS, the first upgrade costs as much as the last upgrade.

Also, if you dont subscribe, the crafting bag is far and away the best thing for inventory management.

Bank space is more valuable than bag space because its account wide, and you dont lose it if you delete a toon, but Bag space can be expanded much more cheaply. Yesterday, I finally got my account back to max storage. 8 chests, 15/15 toons maxed with bags and horse, and max bank. I still am overflowing with shinys. Haha
