With the loss of NMG and SF will stamina dds still be able to hit penetration cap?

Or will they need to use lover's stone or add alot of cp points in penetration?

I calculated it and even if you equip both tfs and spriggan you wont hit the cap with all the buffs (with warrior stone).

So will stamina dds meta change? or will they fall in trial preformance and trails will all be magika again?

base- 100
alkosh- 3010
torugs- 2700 (rounding down here I believe because I don't remember the exact value)
major fracture- 5280
minor fracture- 1320

All the above adds up to 12,410 penetration

tfs- 4300
spriggans- 3450

If you add both of these sets that puts you at 20,160 penetration, so you'd be over penetrating by 1960.

My guess is that stam dps will just use the lover mundus since there are some pretty powerful set combinations. The ~2000 penetration will be made up from CPs. This is just a guess though, as I don't have access to pts, but it's not going to be as difficult as you thought for stam dps to reach the penetration cap.

oh yeah i forgot crusher enchant+torugs, still the lover stone will probably be the go to now, all stam dps will lose about 360 WD, that is even considering they are using spriggans or TFS

I think honestly it will be TFS and whatever set, acuity, VO, hundings, automaton etc. Whatever suits your class the best. While I agree it sucks and it's a lame Nerf that doesn't make sense I think it won't really change our dps output as a group a whole lot. If I can hit 40k+ now with Sunderflame and VO solo I imagine I'll be slightly higher with TFS. The mean dps of all Stam will be about the same, just the Stam sorcs and nightblades that got to wear two full damage sets will be less.

You ask a good question. I really dont like the change. I think they should have left at least one of the sets alone, but it is what it is. Sunder especially was such a cool idea for a set. Personally, I took pride in my sunderflame uptime. I think the simplest answer is that people will simply switch their group pen set to TFS, with spriggans serving as the poor mans TFS. I am not sure I see a good reason to run both. In a really good group, you will be able to get away with warrior, and in a less than stellar group, you will run Lover. I dont see stam being useless next patch, but I am not sure they will make up half the raid anymore either.

In the absence of the other pen buffs, piercing is pretty strong. It's not subject to the diminishing returns of damage multipliers.

The irony is that non-cheesed dummy parses will be higher now. That is, doing a parse in your trial set up. Since a trial set up will include tfs or lover.

yeah for the extra 4000 fire damage maybe but not for the penetration

I would think if anything, NM will still be used by people when solo. It's much easier to keep NM up than Sunder. The flame damage from Sunder, barely even registers on a stam toon. Only possible use I see in a raid would be to have one stam toon run NM on trash fights, just to make sure everything is getting major breach. That sort of thing works much better with NM than sunder. A stam sorc with hurricane and NM basically keeps it up on everything.
