It makes ZERO sense to me why a stolen item would yield anything less than a regular item. How would laundering it affect how much you could get out of it from deconstruction? Isn’t the point of laundering to make something not be identified as stolen? It seems silly to make something untrackable just so you can take it apart into pieces.

RIP Deconstructing Stolen Items — April 4, 2014 - February 29, 2016
It was way too easy to get a ton of mats with little to no effort, I like it this way because stealing isn't suppose to be the #1 way of getting materials, it shouldn't even be a way...

RIP
Personally I am all for this, WAY too many of us logged in and out of high armour / weapon areas and just spammed E to pick everything up and then went to the decon table and after 10mins we had a stack of mats.
It was way too easy to get a ton of mats with little to no effort, I like it this way because stealing isn't suppose to be the #1 way of getting materials, it shouldn't even be a way... ( this really isn't Skyrim ). Mining ores, killing mobs and decon should be the way of an MMO & I am glad they are finally moving in that direction.
I might receive a lot of flak for this view of the matter, however I believe it's a good thing in the sense of the greater good ( for the game's economy ).
Too many people were just stealing and deconstructing it for mats and selling it in bulk
Fan Boy Excuse: maybe you’re in a hurry when deconstructing stolen items because of the crime of having them. So less “care” = less results. You steal, and you gotta get rid of the merch quick. (That’s what I tell myself to be cool with it)
Sure it’s a pain after the nerf, but it makes the in game economy a little more “balanced”. Items are easy as hell to steal by the hundreds. But finding proper mats isn’t. So you gotta “Work” for it to find mats. Maybe if people were more into using the mats for themselves instead of stealing+selling bulk mats for the impatient, things would be more “fair”?
