Ornate cannot be researched through normal means. Instead, it is automatically unlocked for a particular item upon researching all 9 traits on that item.
In addition to increasing the item's value, it also increases Gold Gain from all drops, containers, and quests.
To craft it, instead of requiring a trait gem, it requires 1000 Gold per piece.
