Seasons - A way to make PvP a bit more variated

Hello there!

So, I was talking with a friend today about how open world Cyrodiil could feel more variated and interesting, given that it's the same map since a while and it could use some moving around.

Would you guys think seasons might be a fine addition? Basically, each 3 months some of the most prominent fighting places in Cyro (so not necessarily the whole map) would slightly change to allow different playstyles. An example: the large bridges like Alessia's ones would, for 3 months, be turned into smaller, separated wooden pathways that are thinner and more exposed, because the bridge fell and the three alliances tried to find a different solution to cross the bridge. The gates get run down and palisades are built on the debris, allowing for more ways to pass through these fortresses but also fragmenting the forces that might want to fight around the area. Things like this, perhaps with a bit of backstory attached.

What do you think? It doesn't sound like plenty of effort either!

The issue with changes to the bridge specifically is that a lot of other pathing changes to the river bed would also be required as currently if it was simply collapsed it could simply be bypassed across the river too. Those types of map changes take a lot of time and effort from teams which have other priorities (such as creating sumerset / whatever the next area is).

Changes would always be nice to cyro and I'm sure some will come down the line eventually (the ones which have been requested and in the works for a while) but in terms of short term changes mechanics and gameplay using the existing map is more likely.

I think there could be room for something like this. I agree with another poster about the terrain itself. It'd be really hard to get ZoS to try that. However, they could implement some skill or NPC changes to the dynamic. Something a little more intense than say...the currency/AP doubling events they've had.

Sadly this would need ZoS to really have a team dedicated to PvP. Which I'm pretty sure is not the case. As much as our faction of the whole population enjoys PvP. It's not profitable for ZoS. Therefore no real money is spent on it. I would be happy with a storyline expansion that changes the whole topography of Cyrodiil altogether. That... is very much needed.

true. but if they would make the water area wider so you cant swim under it to cross from one side to the other it might actually be an important bridge. in fact they should widen all the waterways on the EP AD border. you dont see anyone jumping over the mountain ranges that separate EP and DC. I can attest there's no way over the AD DC borders aside from the 3 gates.

in fact you could say AD has been at a disadvantage geographically since launch along the EP boarder because of the cross-able water points. i think there are at least 6 plus the 3 bridges. Hows that for fare play?

    FLOOD THE NIBEN RIVER.

Or you could say that EP has been at a disadvantage.
Lets stop the "poor AD" bias shall we.

if the score of the current campaign implies bias i would agree. unfortunately, EP occupies Alessia more than AD. i'm not so sure im being bias. regardless its not about being bias its about equal geographical balance for everyone.

Hate to say this season pvp is bad, just look at WoW, there are a sheet ton of season bossters fro real money, dont get me wrong but please dont give more ideas for the boost selelrs please, we already have emp sellers, telvar bossters, Ap boosters, and even battleground bossters for real money. those guys dosent need + 1 platfrom to: first empty your valet, second ruin the whole aspect of that game.

TheValar: there wouldn't be different rewards from season to season, just minor map tweaks to route away the fighting from one part of Cyrodiil to others (perhaps with focuses on towns, outer keeps and such).

Even a different amount of guards, especially with the new rules coming with the next patch, could be interesting
