did eso plus members ONLY get free crown crates?

Or did non eso plus members get them too.. I know in the past people i know have gotten 3 free ones without being subbed.. Anyone know for sure?

Non-subscribers got temporary subscription benefits, but not free crates. Check the event announcement on the website if you want more information or confirmation.

So far I ve noticed zos is running 2 different crown crate events. One is giving 3 crown crates every time a new crown crate season begins and requires eligible players to login and kill something each day for every crate. So anyone can get those crates. Then towards the end of each season zos runs an eso+ trial event and present subscribers receive up to 6 crates. Psijic crates are coming so I guess early or mid June we will get the promotional event again and everyone will get up to 3 crates.

To log in each day ? Come on thats easy. Even killing 1 enemy for the 3 crates. But ya i still gotta give you an agree since i got absolute *** out of mine. and the 20 ive bought here and there since the scale caller ones came out.... terrible.

Xbox and PS for theirs at the last maintenance, PC will get our during next maintainance prior to the 16th.

Like someone else said there's 2 different kinds of crown crate events:

One gives everyone free crates, usually when a new set has been introduced so it's probably a way of promoting the new crates and getting people to look at the rewards so they might be tempted to buy more.
The other is when they do a free week of ESO+ for non-subscribers. They give free crates to people who are already subscribing because you can guarantee some people would complain if they didn't get something, and that way everyone is getting something which might tempt them to spend more.

Even if you subscribe all the time it's worth checking the announcements to see which type of promotion it is because the requirements to qualify can be different. I know some people missed out last time there were free crates for everyone because you had to kill an enemy and they either just logged in to do non-combat stuff like crafting writs or for a social guild event that didn't involve fighting, or because they were healing in a dungeon and didn't actually kill anything.

(For those ones I kept an alt just outside town and logged in, killed a wolf and then switched to whatever I wanted to do - so I knew I'd got credit and didn't have to worry about it or try to remember when I was about to log off.)

You also has the issue with timing, some people log in on morning one day then afternoon the next and miss out an day.

They've done this before, but this time the length of time it's taking them is longer than in the past.

It's probably because ZOS is chronically understaffed and doubly so now that they need to focus on updates and prep for Summerset's live release, and oh yeah, I suspect they still have staff on loan to Bethesda for development for TES VI, so they are rewarding the free crates in small batches due to theysimple fact they don't have enough people to oversee the workload of verifying who gets crates and whatnot. And since this was a Subscriber gift, and they already got our money for the sub so we could qualify for it, they aren't going to prioritize the fulfillment. What suckers we are.

I haven't gotten mine yet either. Logged on each day for certain.

This is actually the main reason I want them. Convert the garbage into gems and then I don't have to buy crates when there's something in them I actually want. I can just pay for it with gems. I can live without the Radiant Apex mounts, which are the only things I wouldn't be able ot buy with gems. I have more mounts than there are possible character slots, and i got one Radiant Apex mount from some free Dwarven crates (the Adamant Dwarven Horse) months back and can assure everyone they are no better than the little brown horse you can get for free from leveling up a new toon.

I don't see how having to wait the originally announced few days to receive up to 6 lots of free gifts in any way makes us suckers.

More like ZOS are the suckers for pandering to such an impatient and ungrateful bunch of players

The crates are dispersed when they do maintenance/patch, which for PC is Monday. XboX and PS4 both patched last week, so they got there crates then.
