New zone type request

Could we have a zone that'd be like the old Craglorn? One that's hard to play solo (but not impossible hard) but really doable for anyone in a small group. Give it some drops that are worth playing for like motifs, mats or sets that are good and I'm sure people will enjoy it.

I'm aware there are plenty of people who'd like to do quests and have it relativly easy, but I'm sure there would be a lot of people that would enjoy an open world zone that's a bit challenging. Now all the content you can do PvE wise if you want some challenge is doing vet dungeons or trails, but these are really linear and get stale after a while, and require efford to hop into because you must find a group for them.

Would anyone else like a zone that's a bit more like the old craglorn?

It failed hard, why would they want to do the same again and it again fail?

Because there was next to no reason to play the zone besides farming xp, which they nerfed into the ground as well and now you can solo pretty much all content with one hand.

Make sure mobs give decent xp, make usefull things drop, and have a bit challenging for people who play solo/ in small groups and it'll do fine. Plenty of games do it well so there is no reason why ESO can't. Even something like dynamic world bosses like there are in GW2 would bring in a lot of people if they're worth killing.

Craglorn is still harder than any other overland content. Back when it was unsoloable nobody played it (after they killed the xp grinds anyway). Now, at least, people play it for the questline. There is a reason that there isn't any group-required overland content.

That's why I said make it soloable but with a bit of a challenge. All you need to do is spam one skill in all the other zones which is a bit too easy imo. Before OT openworld was quite tough if you didn't know what you were doing and it was still filled with people. Dark anchors used to be hard on your own. They'll just need to it a bit more challenging then that and reward for it accordingly.

It was most assuredly never unsoloable.

It was changed presumably because no one ever wanted to group to complete it for the people who wanted the achievements. The quest chains were so baffling, and the grouping/instancing so broken, that grouping didn't even work so that people could in fact complete the content together. I've still never bothered to compete it on any character, having tried in various eras and lost interest way back when. It's just too annoying. Also, you couldn't tell which were dailies back then.. fun.

So nowadays low level characters and casuals can complete content that still remains essentially as unpopular, but at least easily soloable. Back then to get from VR 12 to VR 16 there wasn't really enough quest content to complete so a lot of us who otherwise would never grind killed a lot of wasps on our 8 characters to finish up the VR ranks.

The amount of experience that I lost when transitioning to the CP system is crazy. There was once a time when xp beyond cap was just wasted.

It didnt fail hard. the zones were packed and the hub of the game. what failed is they could not expand and enrich thier end game fast enough to keep the community there playing. once the zone was completely conqoured and played the hell out of and nothing new came for content other then patch after patch of trying to fix the game content expansion was abondoned. the feverishly set to trying to revamp the Vr system which took for ever. all there was to do for the player that didnt hit the exit door was roll an alt and play another faction. that is why craglorn failed not because it was to hard or not fun, but becaus ZOS failed to enrich and expand their end game
