Is it time to give all players the craft bag without subcription?

Without the crafting bag, only the fattest cats would stay subscribed, and the suits at Zenimax know that. So do you really think they will change that?

They could atleast have a premium type of account like mostly all other MMO's do, IE: Pay for 1 month become premium if you were F2p and have perks but not as many as Vip Access.

Eso is not F2P. It is Buy-2-play.

I meant as in a F2p account type after you buy the game, your account type will become premium if you subbed for a month then quit.

    IE: https://www.lotro.com/en/Full-VIP-Chart

Even though Lotro went F2p in 2010 you still had to buy the game before then, but you notice the changes from Vip, Premium, F2p

You dont want that. It would be like lord of the rings online, where the Premium-benefits are just enough to make you hate yourself for not having VIP, but not enough to complain you dont get anything.
That model is even more viscious than sub or no sub.

This - basically we would buy the DLCs and unsub afterwards.

The people saying no are grown-ups who understand that nothing is free. If ZOS loses the subscription income then they must extract that income in other, perhaps less benign ways, or else shut the game down.

No. Get yer hand in yer pocket and get a sub. Can't afford it? Get a job. Got a job but can't afford it? Get a new job that pays more. Kids/wife/gf/bf the issue? Sell/disown/dump them.

    Get a sub.

The only value I see for ESO+ is the craft bag. Without it, the sub has no value. The 10% gains are worthless and there aren't enough sub perks to keep it going.

Give this to everyone, and subs tank within hours.

I'll support the craft bag being given to everyone if there's an equal or greater value to replace it for ESO+ members.

I hate to say it, but the craft bag is the best value add for ESO+.

Now that I wrote this, that's actually pretty sad. :disappointed:

Agreed. Maybe they will grow a heart/develop a concience and add more awesome perks. Particularly as we help fund their wages :pensive:
Not holding my breath though lol.

No. But it's time to move Elder Scrolls Online to a free to play model where the base game is free and u just buy the DLC, Crown Store items, etc. The base game sells for less than $10 now so their not making their profits from that and this would generate a new additional stream of players each month. The free to play model is the future, just look at the success of Fortnite.

Sorry. Fortnite is an ugly game that is propped up by its massive streaming community. A lot of people who aren't will end up out of pocket because of it P2W model. There will be a backlash and the popularity bubble will burst eventually.

Most people wouldn't buy ESO+ without the craft bag.
There are only 3 worthwhile reasons to have ESO+; DLC, Bankspace and Craft bag. Personally I outright buy all DLC anyway so I dont feel forced into buying sub time to play, the bank space is nice but I also have 8 characters with enough space to hold gear on so its not £8.99 worth of nice. The craft bag however is so vital to playing that I feel forced to own it when playing.

This, crafting bag is the main selling point for eso+.
removing it will reduce the initiative to use eso+ a lot giving reduced income. who has to be compensated somehow.

Some of you peeps would be dropping brix if we still had to actually carry the inventory we wished to craft with to the stations on our backs. Now you get to use the mats in inventory for crafting. That was ESO's free gift to you. Want more like the unlimited craft bag? Then pay the small sub and support the game.

Absolutely not. This game has to have an income stream. All MMOs do. They have daily operating costs that run tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, and even hit a million dollars a day. Just to keep the servers powered up and connected to the internet will cost them at least into the tens of thousands PER DAY and likely into the hundreds of thousands. And thats before you even get out of the server room. Then you have all the cost of operation a business on top of that.

Where do people think the money comes from to run the servers, maintain them, and have support staff for the game?

The purchase price of the game pays for the development costs. A game like this can hit $100 million to develop. The DLC zones can cost a million or more each. Morrowind and Summerset probably several million on those each to develop.

Subs/microtransactions cover operating costs. A server will use 5-20 times more electric per hour than a desktop. This game has( thousands of servers. Bandwidth? ESO requires a direct backbone link to the internet. Again thousands per day spent on bandwidth. Then you have the daily operating cost required to support, maintain, and operate the servers. License requirements, legal fees to pay an army of lawyers to deal with all the legal business nonsense...every country that plays this game. Etc.

There is no such thing as free to play. Someone somewhere is paying for free players to play this game. The only reason they can play for free is because of people who spend a lot more money on this game than what it cost to have them as a player.

Your welcome, for being able to play this game for free...

They could not offer it for Crowns and sell it for a value equivalent to what they are getting from ESO Plus, over time. If they tried, people would call them money hungry.

I'm tired of people thinking that they should get everything for nothing. My husband is a programmer (not in the gaming industry) and you know what? We have bills to pay and kids to send to college. If his customers got everything for free, we wouldn't be able to pay those bills. The quality programmers in the company would leave. You do understand that ZOS is a for profit company?
I'm glad to support this game with a sub because I enjoy the new content. I am glad that it isn't full of stupid advertisements or crap like that. I'll tell you the truth. The moment that the craft bag goes to everyone, is the moment that you know that ESO is on the downward spiral. They would probably lose more than half of their subs.

Guys you can stop right here - because it is not going to happen - this crafting bag is what makes ESO+ worthwhile and ZOS would be stupid to move that into the crown store or give it out for all. If you want it, you will have to subscribe. There is no use to further discuss that, because it will not happen.

Totally agree and this is what it is all about.

(Asides from "million dollars a day" which would be a really bad operation)

Its hard not to loot everything. It took me awhile (and about two months of playing other games and no eso at all) to get over it once I cancelled, but if I can do it, you can too.

Yes it sux to not enjoy the crafting or trading aspects of the game, but if you can, its much cheaper and takes less time away from questing.

Omg just pay your few bucks a month and move on. No more of this freeloading nonsense.

    Crafting bag shouldn't be free.

For that matter, I think we should go back to required subs.

    This.

So difficult to get someone that hasn’t played elder scrolls to try it. Even then, the few friends I do have that like elder scrolls just go back to the single player rpg’s when they want their fix.

They have to buy the game, expansions and then sub so that they don’t have to worry about not being able to access content that most players already take for granted. It’s a tough sell to be honest, especially when there are so many f2p games doing well.

I’ll still continue to sub, even without the craft bag you get your money’s worth in crowns and bonus exp. With the daily login rewards coming there’s a little more incentive to login routinely, not sure if this is exclusive to sub though. All in all more worth it than most other MMO’s in my opinion

i own all dlcs, i already got all craft traits on all my characters and i don't need more 10% gold or extra xp since i'm way above cp level 720 for ages, i don't use even half of the space of my house, and the transmutation crystals are still very capped on ESO+

so... as most of the players, the craft bag and the double bank space are, in fact, the only two reasons why i subscribe ESO+ :)

Not trying to judge, and people are entitled to spend their money how they like, but that seems like terrible value just for some extra space, and to put it in perspective, if that extra space really is worth it to the point that you would stop playing the game without it, zos doesnt actually leave most of the players with a choice, imo.

There is just too many mats now in the game and jewlery mats on the way, no way to play now without subscription, it became like one of those free to play games.

People still buy dlc assistants and other stuff from crown store just cause they dont sub they dont have to suffer
