Crown Store Gifting and RMT?

Hello all,

I have a slight question regarding the Crown Store gifting and the rules on Real Cash Transactions! a member of my guild asked this question on our Facebook page and was wondering how this will fit into the Terms of Service. Lets say X person gives Y person 300K gold for an item in the Crown Store via Gifting is this still seen as a real money transaction for in game goods in terms of the seller of the Crown Store seller or not.

I can see a grey area in the terms of service in this department and want a little clarification in terms of what is okay and what isn't, I don't want to suggest something to my guild mate before knowing all the information myself.

Thank you all.

Personally, I don't see that as an example of RMT. No outside real world money is transferred. ZOS gets paid for the crowns and the crowns are exchanged for an item as normal. It's just that the recipient of the item is a different person. If the gift recipient gives an ingame item or currency for that gift, that side is all in game so it certainly can't be RMT on that end.

An official response from ZOS on how they feel about this might help shed some light. Nobody wants to catch a ban if it's deemed wrong by ZOS some time after it's implemented.

I see what you're saying here the confusion I have with RMT is that you do pay real money for the Crowns and that for me makes it a slight grey area in this terms I'm thinking right now that it would be okay, Just don't want to declare anything without having all the information.

Also, will it be against the ToS to offer Crown items as prizes in Guild raffles?

I would guess not but I'm going to love the millions of scammed reports though that ZoS can work off over the next 10 years
