Any chance we can get reduced mat cost on cp 160 gear?

V16 or as it's called now CP160 gear was added to the game ages ago. Their ridiculous material cost was to prevent people from having the best gear for the content released day 1, but now we're 30 DLC's passed Wrothgar and everyone is CP720. Can we please get the material cost of this level of gear to reflect the rest of the crafting in the game?

And yes I know it's not hard to farm materials. Not the point of this thread though.

if its not hard to farm materials, why do you need it reduced?

Honestly its not hard to buy materials either. Wood/Metal/Leather are cheap now. Sure Silk is a bit pricey but still.

If you do one toons worth of writs a day you get a few tannins, and surveys. Plus post motif event everyone should be loaded too.

It's a non issue unless you are a new starter just hit 160 perhaps but still, your first end game gear should take some effort.

Or farm nodes in DLC anniversary events for double drops.

Or make it so we get more mats back from deconning them?

For the times you craft & forget to tab to 'Set Armour'

Once you have your CP160 gear, you'll only need to make more when something drastic happens, such as needing to switch a character from one armour type to another - making a DPS into a Tank, for example. The daily crafting writs are at CP150, so don't have an issue. So the drain on the top-level mats is much lower in general.

You may see an imbalance in the material types, because leather nodes fight back, and the others don't. And crafting writs use up silk faster than leather, which offsets that a bit. In my case, it means that both are lower than the rest, but I still have more top-level mats than the lower ones, with five of my seven characters being below L50.

I don't think anything needs fixing. You'll get through the initial barrier, and not have the problem again.

It’s not hard to farm materials ... why do you want to short-cut putting some effort into best in slot crafted gear?

I would rather have writs of all levels use 1 or each weapon/armour like 160 writs rather than "5 daggers 2 helmets, 2 pauldrons"
The only way for us to farm low level mats is to respec ourself or keep an alt at lower level crafting points.
    it's stupid.

Why when I read that did I imagine a response from the dev team: “we have heard from the players that they don’t like c160 gear having a different cost than lower level gear. Therefore we have made it standard for all pieces at any level to require a standard 100-150 mats. All cost are now the same. But we are adding packs of raw mats to the crown crate next season.”

    Lol.

That's true of console atm, not PC. For some unknown reason, ruby ash, which used to be the cheapest, is now second to ancestor silk. Both are priced outrageously.

Well, resource management was made easier a while back when they changed it so that intricate gives you a variable amount of mats back, I think between 3 and 10(?).

I'm not sure why, but I just cracked up out loud reading that line. Thank goodness I'm the only one left in the office on a Friday afternoon or else I'd have to explain why I'm surfing forums and not doing something productive. Oh well.
