ESO: Dying a slow death or being reformed?

So, after 3 magnificent years on ESO. I stopped playing, the only thing there was left to do was pvp. So i hit 1 star and then got bored and quit. I thought eso was dying but i hopped back on, and apparenty it doesnt seem that way, there were many many new features, like an outfit system, like the glamour system similiar to FFXIV.

I felt all there was to do was squabble with zerg ball leaders. But is the game actually being reformed or dying?

EDIT

I literally asked a simple question and im getting wiseguys left and right.

To clarify. All i said was i THOUGHT the game was dying after 3 years of nonstop playing. Then i come back on, and its seems like its growing. All i did, THE POINT OF THIS POST is to ask those who played during my haitus how the game is holding up.

This game will never die. It's probably THE best PvE MMO out there.
Playerbase is growing super fast. A lot of casual content & some hard content.

    PvP? meh

Every single MMO in existence is dying according to random posters in their forums.

    ESO is doing just fine.

I don't think it will die anytime soon. The content that is being put out is amazing, and in good speed.

you and many others will mostly play it for the PvE & the role play side of things amongst all this awesomeness. (Mind you there will be PVP'ers, but in statistical terms, there is probably a greater percentage of people who play PvE than those who play Pvp, then there are those who go into PVP primarily to collect the skyshards.)

If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

Because the OP quits, that means the game is surely dying.

Gosh, I mean the OP has a valid point. How can we the millions of players defy that kind of logic??

This game is in great shape, thanks in large part to it being not only on PC but also on both consoles.

Anyone claiming ESO is dying is either foolish or trolling.

Why does everyone think that if they stop playing something then that's a sign it is dying? The game isn't dying, your interest in it is. That's fine, move on to something else. You might come back, you might not.

I like ESO a lot, but if it didn't have a PvP side to the game I would have been gone a long time ago. I applaud the developers for creating a great PvE experience...but it's still restrained by its MMO nature. For example, compared to a single player game, ESO PvE will never have the character physicality or environmental interaction of Dying Light, or the engaging story of Witcher 3, the combat of Tekken, etc.

TBH it's the best PvP MMO at the moment too.

That *might* say more about MMOs failing to deliver on their promises than anything else, but I have a hard time taking anyone seriously when they talk about ESO dying without offering any meaningful alternatives besides games that are generally worse or are mere vaporware.

If you felt all there was to do was Zerg around before, you will feel that way again once you have burned the new content. The end game hasn’t changed enough to offer much else. BGs I suppose if you are into that.

The strength of ESO has always been the story.

Man, I play late nights in NA. Log in around 1A usually and play till 5A. Let me tell ya, it is crowded in every zone I go to, even that late. This game is not dying. I do a lot of PvP. Sometimes I play Vivec and sometimes Shor for smaller scale fighting. If I spend a couple of hours in Shor I'll work my way into the top 30 on the leaderboards. In Vivec...it's in the thousands. That's just in PvP, which most players don't do, as one example.

Edited to clarify: I play on PC in NA.

Games that are dying/dead don't get new content. Were still getting content at a decent pace.

Come back when we haven't had a content patch in 2-3 years then worry <*Cough The secret world player Cough*>

Also not to lock basic things like a whole crafting line behind a pay wall seems way to greedy imo.

The games doing fine. With every player that decides they've had their fill of the game and decide to move on, there are plenty of other, newer players deciding to step up to the plate in their stead.

It's the ebb and flow of virtually every MMO in existence.
