vAS +1 Lliothis, debuff on tank?

The trial team i run with are currently working towards vAS +2 completion, we've completed +1 Felms and we're currently working on +1 Lliothis.
I'm the main tank and I noticed last night that i got an armour shatter/debuff on myself when I took taunt of Lliothis that I wasn't aware of before, my health bar had the fracture animation over it and i had a shatter on my buff bar similar to that you get from savages in vMoL.
My questions are, for those kind enough to answer:

Which of the bosses does this come from?
What attack that he does applies this?
Is there a way to avoid it?
What is the debuff itself / what does it actually do?
Can it be cleansed / purged?

    The breath from Olms gives shatter, simply don't stand in it. Llothis gives defile with his AOEs which can be purged.

    Is that a ground AoE or a cleave attack like Noxious breath that stam DK's use?

    It is the big front cleave he does, where he basically breathes out steam.

    Turns out it can be purged too, figured this out last night. We finished +1 last night too, on to +2 now.....
