I just finished all motifs after like 3 years of kind of trying, mostly doing the easy dailies. I just gave up and spent like 2 mill on the hard ones the other week.
Everyone has a plan, until their plan gets nerfed

Apparently the only Stamplar left on PC EU

depends how much gold you are willing/able to spend and how capable you are at all the various aspects of the game that reward motifs.

it's almost like you're not really asking a meaningful question here. it's like asking how long it will take to earn a million dollars in the U.S.A. it depends on your skills, willingness to grind, and several other intangible factors.

or if you don't like that answer: One Year.
it will take you exactly one year to get motifs.

Well what ones are easiest, Daily quests, the ones that I need to pickpocket etc and without spending any gold, I gave up years ago when they started to come out as pages and required you to grind/farm

Yep, the Morrowind and DLC Daily quests are a good place to start.

There will soon be Summerset Dailies that drop motifs as well.

the blue racial ones and the purple full books (like Ancient Elf) are the easiest. i can give those away for free.

Mercenary and Assassin's Guild and that tier also seems easy; they're like 1k or less on my server.

since you mean to go fast, it'd be best to cultivate a large pool of the relevant resources (such as large amounts of currencies, and many benevolent trading contacts) and work on the rarer and more expensive motifs, because by the time you fill that out the lower tiers will seem to easily come your way (or at least feel like negligible cost).

if i'm not inaccurate for being a few weeks behind, i'd guess that once you can freely trade Buoyant Armiger, Worm Cult, and Mazzatun then the lower tiers like Minotaur will seem to fall into your lap.

OP, I would separate the list of all motifs into two categories: the really expensive ones and everything else. Then I would spend gold to acquire most of them, leaving myself time to farm the expensive ones.

Depends on how much you want to grind and your willingness to buy some of the pages you need. Ive gotten about half of all current chapters/books and it took me about 6 months( and a very long anniversary event) to get that far. I dont grind for them though. I just farm some every once in a while and most i pick up from doing other things. The anniversary event doubled the amount i have learned in that time though. Some motifs are only available at certain times of the year and are hard to find when "not in season" so id say 1-3 years unless you just buy all of them, depending on your dedication to the task.

Its easier to buy the cheap motif pages, some are only 2-5k so the full 14 page book isnt too expensive.
In the mean time, farm the more expensive pages. If you get a double you can sell it and buy multiple cheaper pages.
The Awesome Guild Store add-on is really nice to search for specific motif pages.

Are you also trying to collect 40 complete motifs so you get the Master Crafter title when Summerset launches?

I took around 15 months to get all of them and I wasn't heavily invested in it. Only thing I kept doing through all this time was trading to have a steady income.

If you really want them all you have to learn to be efficient about it. First don't waste time grinding for any cheap motifs and just straight up buy them. I don't think I actively farmed for any motif worth less than 10k. Secondly while it's really nice to get a nice deal you very often only save very little compared to the time invested by running from trader to trader. Saving on trades only really becomes effective with expensive purchases.

Learning to play the game properly can easily be one of the best methods to making steady money. If you can run vet dlc hms in around 20 minutes they will be one of the easiest source to make money. You will have to find likeminded people for that though.

You can probably buy all motifs currently in game with 10-12M gold, considering prices on EU-PC, as calculated by this addon. Getting that much gold will take 4-6 months probably, depending on your capabilities. I've gotten mine over a long periods, with 2 notable spikes, January 2017 when I got them up to date the 1st time for about 2.8M over 2 weeks, and October 2017 when I did the same for 3.75M and 2.2M AP in 6 hours. The rest I've farmed myself before, in between or after.
