I'm going to assume the latter. But I bet overall, NB.

Which one is, I think. I left Warden just because it exists, but it is not cheesy-overpowered, so it is obviously least played class.
Actually, I thought completely otherwise: running in PvE, I see mostly DKs and Sorcs, but not NB.People REALLY like the rogue archetype in this game, it seems. Not surprisingly with how powerful they are in both PVE and PVP.

Been a while since I did, so here we go again!
Using esoleaderboards, and tracking how many times each word appears for each trial using the source code, we get the following numbers:
- Aetherian Archives
- Dragonknight: 308 (25%)
- Templar: 269 (22%)
- Sorcerer: 294 (24%)
- Nightblade: 308 (25%)
- Warden: 27 (4%)
- Hel Ra Citadel
- Dragonknight: 359 (26%)
- Templar: 314 (22%)
- Sorcerer: 371 (26%)
- Nightblade: 321 (23%)
- Warden: 37 (3%)
- Sanctum Ophidia
- Dragonknight: 403 (26%)
- Templar: 366 (24%)
- Sorcerer: 413 (27%)
- Nightblade: 305 (20%)
- Warden: 43 (3%)
- Maw of Lorkhaj
- Dragonknight: 323 (27%)
- Templar: 269 (23%)
- Sorcerer: 291 (24%)
- Nightblade: 284 (24%)
- Warden: 21 (2%)
- Halls of Fabrication
- Dragonknight: 157 (26%)
- Templar: 143 (24%)
- Sorcerer: 128 (21%)
- Nightblade: 158 (27%)
- Warden: 10 (2%)
- Asylum Sanctorium
- Dragonknight: 147 (14%)
- Templar: 208 (20%)
- Sorcerer: 280 (27%)
- Nightblade: 367 (36%)
- Warden: 22 (2%)
- Total
- Dragonknight: 1697 (24%)
- Templar: 1569 (23%)
- Sorcerer: 1777 (26%)
- Nightblade: 1743 (25%)
- Warden: 160 (2%)
Exception made of Asylum Sanctorium, the diversity between the 4 original classes is actually well spread out. There have been no real shift to roles, with DKs sticking to tanks, templars to healers and NBs / Sorcerers being used as DDs. Only the warden is left out, as it doesn't really outshine any spec at anything, on top on requiring Morrowind, locking them at such a low percent.

I still see staves on most players back, especially MagDK being popular.
