how would you guys feel if zos were to work on a legacy server for those who want to relive the old days of 1.6 and before.

    What kind of joke is this. Its not WoW where legacy servers had a more mmo feel then modern servers, ESO purely got vastly better and more like an mmo.

    How are you going to pay for it? Maintenance, patches, GM team, mandatory subscription? Is there enough of a playerbase to support it to outweigh its cost vs profit? I understand that WoW is doing it, but that's only because they had to shut down numerous private servers with one being a key figure featured in game news that drew more attention to the subject. If you're really serious about it, you may go and contact ZoS and setup crowd funding to support it, otherwise its too much of a pain having to hire another team to work on a Legacy Server that may not pan out in the long run.

    As long as that server (live or die) is only financed by those who take part in it then I am all for it.

    In theory I have no opinion (whatever floats your boat), but in practice I would absolutely hate to see ZOS waste their time on something like this, when there is SOOO many other areas that need attention and things that I would like to see added to the game.

    ESO is may be the unique MMO which doesn't need to have any old-version server. This game always get's only better.

    Honnestly, the game was nice before, but since it only get better and better, I wouldn't see the point.

    People complain enough about game balance now, if half of them went back to 1.6 might be forgetting just how bad some of the things back then were.

    Also why split the devs over two games rather than just focus on keeping the one we have improving.

And in my experience, developers don’t usually open legacy servers unless they’ve royally forked up their main game over the last few years, driving a lot of their older playerbase away in the process. While ESO has had some changes and problems that I’m not a fan of, it isnt anywhere near needing a legacy or “oldschool” server.

    If you mean Legacy of returning an inferior game then no thanks. :smiley:

    Legacy is a thing of nostalgia, where people look back through rose tinted glasses. ESO just doesn't have that because for the most part it steered away from the brink and vastly improved.

    You wouldn't gain anything, in fact you'd just be extremely hindering your game play.

    Ten years from now it might be a novelty but I cannot see what would be gained.
