Running like an Assassin (Personality)

aSafeLobotomy
I usually never use the third person camera while playing but recently I was checking out my character, running around with the Assassin Personality applied and I noticed something that I don't know whether is intended or not. When normally running the Assassin Personality looks awesome, arm out all assassin-like but then as soon as I sprint it turns to the normal running animation.

I will admit I find it hilarious to sneak up to someone, all stealthy, arm out, Blade of Woe in the back, then run off like some normal chap on a daily jog.

Is the Personality just supposed to be for normal running or should it also apply to sprinting?

I literally never heard anyone say that.

How can you stomach FirstPerson in this game. I get sick after two minutes.

Funny, I have the same problem when in third person. Seriously, I hate playing in third and am exclusively a first person player. Maybe something to do with the way our eyes see the images or brain processing it. I physically get ill if I try playing top down games, something about them gives me a massive headache and makes me sick feeling.

As for the OP I think that you can see all the different things that personalities affect now in the collections section for them, usually a preview for them too.

Similar thing happened to me when I finally got my Telvanni personality. It had a majestic idle animation and I was conjuring magelight orbs left and right, spawning flying books to read from and then when I tried to run...let's just say it wasn't 'magical' lmao!

And then there was the long-time -- now fixed -- bug that, when you had the scholar personality active and did some blacksmithing, you would beat on the anvil with a feather.

Used to only play in first person until I found out how much easier some of the vet material is in third person.

I LOVE FIRST PERSON haha I think it's amazing. I much prefer it in first person; immersion is so much better. I would have thought that most people use first person as well :persevere:

Hahaha exactly. Kinda breaks the immersion, I've just been to Clockwork City and the Factotums sprinting while in a sort of Assassin stance, it looks AWESOME!

I used to as well, but I took the advice of players who stated third person is better.

    They weren't wrong.

Being able to see all attacks around me prevents me from dodge rolling from the frying pan into the fire, which was always a problem for me in 1st person (can't see behind you).

Third person isn't about seeing your character.

It's about seeing the entire battlefield.

I'll give it a go! It's not so bad, but I do enjoy the immersion of being in first person. However, if I do go just to third person I'll just be seeing my stealthy dunmer assassin running about like a mad man instead of being the complete sneak he is....when he's not drunk.

This one does. The preview shows a walking, jogging and run animation. Check it out :)

The assassin personality is overall a mess, and has never worked for me. It will often cause inventory containers to appear to contain no items at all, and become unopenable until the personality is disabled. Also, when pulled over by guards, the game freezes before the dialogue even appears, and has to be restarted.

I bought Thief, I can attest that the Run animation is also broken. The “preview screen” shows an awesome running animation. But when you go live with it, it no work....:(
  • aSafeLobotomy
It's such a shame as well because otherwise it's pretty encompassing. There's like 3 idle animations, a stand, a walk and run but then the sprint is a let down which should be up there as one of the best.

Are you serious?! Is that why that happens?! I had no idea it was the Personality. I always use it and constantly have that issue. Arrrgggh, I really liked that Personality

I had the same issue with the thief personality (yes, I bought it).
I thought that the sprint animation was the one previewed in the crown store so I bought it and discovered it was referring to the normal run animation.

I was so disappointed that I almost submitted a ticket for a refund.
