Skill Rank drop after respec?

I have a rarely played alt that I recently converted from tank to DPS.

Before respec'ing, he had the Warhorn skill from the Assault line. That skill requires Assault Rank 4. My assault rank was at about 4.5 when I respec'd.

After respec'ing, his assault line is 3.5 and he can no longer select warhorn (not that he would, but it's not available).

Anyone ever have a skill RANK drop after respec?

I've submitted a help ticket and the response I get is "Ranks don't drop in respec. Just use your skill points to get Warhorn again. Uh...thanks, but I lost a full rank!

yeah it has happened to me (and not with poision injection) and I ended up just having to train the skills again. This isn't much help but you're not the only one

I know awhile back they changed the order of the some of the skills in some lines and that changed the rank since previously gained XP never wouldn't have been available for a skill you didn't have yet. I'm not sure if War Horn was moved or not though.

For most including war horn, they were lessened.

yeah it happened with me but mainly with poison injection, but that was because they changed the order or skills on the line so the xp needed changed, but I think if you got it you got it why the heck force people to regrind on respec?

As stated, several skills were reorderd a while back. Until you respec, you may not see the results of this. We were given Respec for a Gold back when the change was made, not an automatic respec.

Anyway, the "class" should not have dropped, and in fact, the AP needed to gain ranks in PvP has been reduced. So, this is weird. In other words, Warhorn should have become locked.

Now, how to fix this, you could submit a ticket to ZOS and wait for resolution, if there is one. Or just do some PvP for an hour or two and gain the rank back again. That would be quicker.

Besides, most DPS don't run Warhorn, that is for Healers and Tanks. But your going to want some other skills if you have a stam that will require more ranks. Not so much for magic, until you get Magic Detonation

This has happened to me multiple times. My main character has maxed all morphs of all skills and in various updates I have lost these upgrades.

Yeah, I don't want warhorn now, I want Caltrops. And I know I have to go grind PVP to get caltrops but I'd rather grind from 4.5 to six than 3.5 to 6.

The amount of AP has been reduced to gain these levels, so it will be faster than you think.

Still weird that the Assault line dropped in ranks.
