Gifting. Now there's a nice idea.
But I just read something rather disturbing. If a recipient does not claim the gift, we can't use it upon return?
I don't wish to be ungrateful, but this seems flawed and should be corrected.
Having to find someone else to give the items to just because the recipient didn't accept/time delay isn't what I'd call a solution.

You're stuck with it until you can give it to someone.

yeah well that works great with steam doesn't it.
People selling humble bundle games for irl cash on paypal.
All one would need to do is grab limited "unique" cosmetics in ESO, hoard them and sell them at a higher price later on.
Seems a good idea on pen and paper. Gifting friends items, but in reality it will add more corruption to the game.

Don't think of it as gifting but more as trading crown store items for gold/items/services in game. Now players can troll each other by agreeing to an exchange of crown store items for gold/items/services and then backing out of the deal. Now the player has spent crown on something that will either be stolen from them or returned to the gifter who can't use the item, get a refund for it and is forced to hold onto it hoping they find someone else to "gift" it to.Juju_beans wrote: »And if they don't accept it again?Dragonnord wrote: »And if, because of any reason, someone doesn't accept the gift you can just send it back to the same person, it's stated in the article details.

Why would you gift something to someone who doesn't want it ?
So people will be able to convert cash to in-game gold via crown store gifting now?
