New type of personality

Could we have personalities that'd also change the way you stand with weapons out. Like with S&B you'd stand more like this:

Or like this with a 2H weapon:

I think it would give personalities a bit more use outside of just standing still in towns. There could be a lot of different stances for each type of weapon. Would anyone else like this?

Cool idea but...that 2H stance isn't realistic at all. Leaves you all sorts of vulnerable to attack.

Still cool idea though.

If someone came up to me with a greatsword wearing a full suit of armor I would probably just run away instead of trying to beat them.

I wish personalities included characters playing with their weapons. Especially staves.

Actually that stance looks like a Roof Guard. Look it up its actually a thing. Most stances are expected to be part of fluid combat and that stance has a use, an offensive one. In the movies you usually see some manner of Plow Guard or Ox Guard but those are not the only ones.

I would just like to add that I imagine the sword and shield stance there more odd than the 2 hander one. I'm not sure why he isn't pressing the attack with sword more forward (makes sense to be along the edge of the shield but I'm not sure why it is in front). Also I'm curious why the shield isn't pushed forward just a bit. This might be some kind of at rest position though I am not sure what I'm looking at and I'm sure a serious historian or someone who studies historical combat of this sort recognizes that stance.

On a more serious note, I would love to see them add "fighting styles" in the same way as personalities. Possibly even making some of them affect skill animations if at all possible, so you don't thrust with an axe or blunt mace for 1H&S or DW, but swing instead?

That would be awsome! I really like to swing 2h swords with 1 hand. And hold (sprint) with one hand (sword behind you).

Nah, as stated before if they are standing like that they must not know what they are doing or think too highly of themselves, both indications that they can be smacked.

With that said it would be awesome to get new personalities that affect how you hold weapons.

With that said it would be awesome to get new personalities that affect how you hold weapons.

At which point if you press the attack they will chop downward and cut through your skull, the side of your neck, sidestep and strike your hands, wrists, or arms or strike your clavicle on a miss. The stance shown is an actual stance. Footwork is part of a stance and you might expect the individual to move forward if you're at range and backwards or laterally making his strike. Do not assume that that stance is worthless because it was used. Once again it was part of many fluid motions like most martial arts techniques leading one to the other. In other words someone who was holding his sword like that is either baiting you or they are moving from another position getting ready to do serious damage to your dome. You didn't get to be wearing knight's armor like that by being a buffoon generally.

Yeees please. A personality that makes my characters hold a bow sideways all the time would be great. Or a dual wield with the weapons held upside down/backhanded/whatever you call it

I don't really mind if they're realistic or not since it's a fantasy gamebut they shouldn't look out of place dumb either. I do think that adding combat personalities would look really cool and that people would get them, so win win for us and ZoS.
