My internet connection at home is TERRIBLE for downloading. My gaming desktop at home is very nice so thats where I want to play. I downloaded it on my gaming laptop at work, and my laptop runs it fine. When I move the install to my desktop it won't work. I started the install on my desktop, then halfway through I coppied from my laptops install over the directory. This has worked in other mmos. Is there anything else I can try?

Delete all the installed files < no not all the files just the game files> on the computer you are trying to copy to i.e. your desktop. Copy all the files located in your The Elder Scrolls Online install folder on your laptop to your desktop. The Documents\Elder Scrolls Online folder is optional to copy as it will be re-created when you launch the game.

You should run the DirectX End User Runtime web installer on your desktop before executing the launcher to ensure that it is up to date. This is normally done automatically during the full DL/Install process.

You will likely receive an alert that you are attempting to access the game from an unknown IP address so just get the code they send you from the e-mail and enter it and you should be good to go. When you run the launcher the first time on your desktop it will generate the required Documents\Elder Scrolls Online folder while detecting your hardware etc...

Hello there, can you explain what is happening to me here. Every single time I log in - which has been 10 times since the server went live - it requires me to follow the process above. why? is there something wrong?

Your probably using some form of Dialup, ISDN or wireless connection and your IP address is dynamic - meaning it changes every time you connect to the internet only way around this is to contact your Internet service provider and request a static Ip address which may incur additional costs.
