Why can we not double bar weapons?

Ex. If I run s&b front bar s&b back bar of the same set. Why is it that I need 2 of the sword and shield (one for front and back bars) instead of just hitting the bar swap button and my bar changing ?
Sorry if that's confusing . Lol.

Because it gives us the option to run different sets, traits, and glyphs on the other weapons. For example, if you were a tank you might want one Crusher glyph on your main bar and one Weakening glyph on the back bar.

It would require more complex coding, even simple coding is hard, we does not have an reply button for mail, this was requested during beta.
You have to use the gold tempers :(
Add that before the outfit system it was nice to have different looking weapons on each bar. Hated SPC destro / resto setups as you had to look on bar to see who you was on.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Pretty much this, OP. Very rarely do you want to run the exact same weapon set on both bars. Its not to say that you can't, but there are many benefits to running a different weapon or changing up enchantments, etc.

    Yup, that's pretty much it.
Or different types in the same like (like axe-bleed / mace-armor piercing" choice)

Also, most do prefer the added flexibility of running two different weapons skill lines& selections... like "tanky/DPS" or "damage/heals" or "melee/ranged" setups...

I do get that and it all makes perfect sense .... but for some reason I just think it would be cool if the option was there and I dont know why.

Coding stuff like this is not hard. They just have to make time to do it and they prioritize other things.

A player shouldn't be running identical items on their bars. Using S&B as an example, one should have two different types of shields for different results. One shield could mitigate physical damage while another would mitigate spell damage.

Playing with identical weapons/shields on both bars is a limitation to the player because not every enemy has the same attack.

It boils down to those who would choose to use two different kinds of weapons would be penalized in favor of those who use the same type of weapon on both bars in needing less resources to engage in combat. This way, anyone who bar swaps needs two sets of weapons.

Now, if you want a different bar and not have to equip a weapon for that bar, roll a Sorcerer and use the Overload Ultimate. It effectively gives you a 3rd bar for skills.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

For the same reason you can't swap weapons or gear while in combat. Even though that's precisely what happens when you bar swap. It makes no sense. People come up with these implausible scenarios in attempts to rationalize it. It's irrational, but what to do? As long as enough paying customers defend the current systems in place, what incentive is there for improvement? According to some, if another thinks there is a better way to implement a system, then they should go play another game. It's what MMOs have devolved to in recent years.

Well, what would you consider worse - running both bars with the same weapon, or just running one bar?
