Stamden or Magden for pve....and maybe pvp someday?

Ok, rolled a magden and am enjoying the class, the change and that. Only thing is I have a magsorc and a magDK sitting waiting til SS. SO was thinking of playing Warden as stam. Now, I have read all the posts as to how they fair in pvp, but what about pve? Granted, many think Warden and dps are miles apart but I wont be doing leaderboards or whatever it will just be open world quests and pve dungeons, etc. Thoughts? ;)

And yea, I have been pounding the forums lately but where else do you go when you are new/returning....the player base of course!!

Concentrate on your shields. By that I am not talking about the thing strapped to your arm but the abilities your class can offer for shielding and mitigation.

I am not the best player in the world and my rotation is laughable but I can solo most dungeons with any toon that has a good shield ability.

Hardened Ward, (SORC) makes almost ALL PVE content a cake walk, look for something similar, keep it up 100% while in combat and work on your DPS after the habit for your damage mitigation skill is second nature.

Both are good for PvE, but I prefer the Stamden for PvP, because of Vigor and Forward Momentum; just to name a couple stam-base skills among others that enable the Stamden to be formidable. I played the Mag one in PvP, but didn't find it as strong as a MagSorc or MagBlade. However, the Magden, in good hands, can still be quite brutal and formidable; damn Cliff Racers. Ha ha

    Well.

People who run trials will say things like Magden is awful (for DPS), while Stamden is adequate except the ult makes things a bit messy (since if you're running the bear you can't run the standard Dawnbreaker/backbar combo every other stamina class does).

Outside of trials, meaning for dungeons and that sort of PVE, I would say that both Stamden and Magden are fine (Magden is even getting a bit of a PVE boost with Shalk applying Breach - though taking stun off makes it a PVP nerf...). Magden is a bit more interesting to me personally because of the setup flexibility, but the Stamden does quite well also (and is the one class I run a bow/bow setup on currently). And Summerset will make two-handed weapons (including staves) count as two items for sets, so there is no more imperative to run DW.

My point is - both can do fine, in my experience, up to a point (trials/high DPS gates/etc.). So I'd pick either based on an overall preference for magicka or stamina, or based on the racial choice (e.g. Altmer = magicka), or based on some RP considerations (e.g. my MagSorc is Imperial because that's their back story, the end, and I just have to eat the 5%-10% DPS loss).
