The best experience ever in gaming: "You exit Seyda Neen. Some random guy falls from the sky. You pick up his inventory and find some fascinating scrolls that immensely improve your acrobatics. You use them and jump." A few seconds later you try not to panic and find the way to land safely amidst some crazy stuff going on inside your brains while the land below swiftly gets away from you and in a few seconds is hidden in a fog of low distance draw and only some occasional peaks scroll by while you are blown above half of the Vvardenfell

Most overrated game (Fallout -New Vegas) a close second in the history of gaming.
When you need to say you have to play the updated PC version that ends all talk of it being a great game.

I can throw in Suikoden 1&2 today w/o any updates great games. I can throw in N64 RE2 today and it’ll be one of the best games still. I can throw in KOTOR and play it with out it feeling dated.

Never understood the fascination with Morrowind in my view.

Nowtalgia my man. There would probably be a split between people who want to play it for nostalgia sake and people who wouldn’t want to touch it for the reasons mentioned in the other posts.

Morrowind came out for me when I was in middle school and the original xbox was the next best thing, literally everyone had one, except me. I found out about the game while at a buddies house and could only play it a little when we hung out. When I finally got an xbox, that was the only game I asked for. Being able to play through by myself, I sunk mega hours into it and loved the entire journey.

To break that out and relive those moments would be a direct shot of nostalgic dopamine to my head and would love it. If you didn’t have that kind of experience, and try it again for the graphics and combat after todays games, then no, you probably wouldn’t like it.

Man, I LOVED that game. But...

I tried to dust it off and play it, because it has so many great features. The fact that each NPC has a persistent opinion of you and acts accordingly is just amazing. And I actually like the idea that many places are too dangerous for new players to go, rather than whole-world scaling like was implemented in Oblivion, Skyrim, and ESO after One Tamriel.

I can deal with the blocky graphics, the clunky UI, etc.

But what actually keeps me from playing it; how SLOW I move until I level speed up. I just can't deal with that.

Actually, YouTube search for ES3 speedrun, it's pretty amazing what some gamers have accomplished. Props to them.

I was livestreaming morrowind from disc. I can confirm it is quite fun to enjoy, the spawn rate of those flying abominations is still glitched to over populate, also yes do remember to save often enough because sometimes you experienced glitches that allow you to walk through walls and floors.
The game itself is a fun experience and has me re exploring the land of Vvardenfell. Figuring out the topography changes and whatnot among other things as well.

Definitely worth it. This was my first Xbox game, and I have so many memories. If I knew the stuff I know now, I would rock that game. Not saying I didn't complete it or anything, but some skills were not as invested in as they should've been(fighting Dagoth Ur with 30 Short Blade/25 Blunt lol) but i did show Almalexia/Hircine what's up. Definitely plan on picking this up again(even though I'm a little sad my GOTY edition won't work)

I played it on my 360 about 10 yrs ago. It had its limits like slow loading screens but it was playable as I probably spent 500 hrs on it.

Come to think about it... I think xbox one version did not have long load screens like I remember. I started up the game from disc, download was less than 2 minutes for me but initial startup and loading my game was so short. I honestly don't think it takes long and any loading screen I have seen takes less than 10 seconds.
