How I would improve magicka warden in pve

Improving pve magicka warden damage dealers

1. I’d switch the Crystallized Shield morph Crystallized Slab to shoot four ice projectiles over 12 seconds kinda like Flames of Oblivion.

Switching crystallized slab to a damage morph wouldn’t make them overpowered in pvp because they wouldn’t have Shimmering Shiel, they’d gain damage but lose tankyness.

I would also rename this morph to Crystallized Shards.

2. Make the Frozen Retreat synergy part of the base morph so Frozen Device still retains that when you morph it, rename Frozen Retreat to Frozen Tremor this skill now summon’s an ice tremor that does X amount of frost damage and stuns one enemy (the tremor would be single target, direct damage and look like the ice aoe from Scalecaller Peak) it would have a 1.5 second cast time but if you applied the chilled status effect it will have an instant cast proc with a 2 second cooldown.

3. Replace the passive Glacial Presence to whenever you apply the chilled debuff you also apply a new debuff I’d call minor impair which increases your group’s crit damage against that enemy by 1% for 4 seconds but if you apply chilled again within that 4 seconds it will stack up to 3 times and refresh the duration each time resulting in a 7 second duration and stacking to 4% crit damage. making it a good tool for magic warden, Because you have to keep applying chilled for it to stack, this gives them a nice group buff and improves their DPS.
This also promotes wardens to use ice a bit more.

I would get rid of all the garbage delayed-cast abilities and replaced them with real DoTs. AoEs, or HoTs myself. I want to cast an ability...not watch a 3 second animation then wait 3 seconds more for whatever I did to take effect.

Winter's Revenge + Deep Fissure + Growing Swarm + Wall of Elements, this is already very powerful combo AOE.
Ah I use Shimmering Shield + Ice Fortress for self defence.

Btw when using Glacial Presence with charged lightning staff + Elemental Forces II, seems very effective for big groups, they die v.fast, though I'm not sure how it works.

With the above, I don't think mag warden needs any improving for pve.

PC EU (PL): 14 characters. ESO player since 06.08.2015. Farkas finest quote: "Some people don't think I'm smart. Those people get my fist. But you, I like."

I’m talking about pve where magic warden is still underperforming and all of the changes I made are single target not aoe.

The only way I could make a mag warden viable in PvE, was by making him a healer.... i gave up on dps after patch notes.

My magwarden uses skills from the animal companions line, and from the destro staff line. There is only one skill I use from the ice line, and that's the Ice Fortress (Frost Cloak) skill. The rest of the ice line besides the ult is junk, in my opinion, unless you're a tank.
