Nightmother's Gaze completely useless now??

since it applies major fracture, which tank applies already in any team, it is really good for nothing except maybe VMA on classes that don't naturally apply them.

Why did they decide the make it usless instead of reworking it somehow even if they want to change this mechanic??

This is also a nerf to raid stamina damage since there is no alternative for it.

Can someone explain what use is the set now?

    Are you even guaranteed a gold mat from decon? That was the single dumbest change I have ever seen for one of the most popular sets

    You already stated what it's best use is, vMA. I won't decon mine and I'll still use it for stamplar and stam sorc in vMA. Still a really dumb change that I'm hoping they won't stick with.

    Will have its uses for stamsorc and stamplar in vma and pvp, but the change overall sucks, another layer of group play removed in this neverending normalization route ZOS team started with the minor and major buff system. Yes the game will be really easy to balance, too bad there will be 2 classes only, magicka and stamina.

    this is one of the changes that basically noone supports... We want more support sets, not less. Instead they introduce proc sets over and over again. that is probably my biggest dislike of this patch. I like the new skill line, the new zone is really cool, but gear has been meh over the last few patches (other than jorvulds guidance, asylum weapons and several monster sets).

    Proble is that they dont really adjust many sets. Asylum dual wield for example... no-one uses it because it doesnt have an advantage over other things and the sheer concept is counterintuitive: buff dots with an AoE spammable. This is just an example of sets that would need readjustment..

    I personally loved the concept of support sets and wished they'd introduce some for magicka DPS. I just don't see what they are trying to accomplish with this change.

    Yes, but only two classes don’t have access to major fracture normally - Sorc’s and Templar’s. So the item set now is only useful to 2 stamina classes in solo content. Why only solo? Chances are if you’re in a group, you’ll have someone’s that’s able to apply major fracture, thus negating the 5 piece bonus entirely.

    This, also vma is the only hard solo content and they have less resistance anyway, for overland and questing you can pretty much go naked.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    True. I certainly don’t think it’s useless, and since this will apply the equivalent of a penetration set, it’s become the most efficient penetration set for stam (albeit only for two classes, and only in solo content). That being said, this set will almost definitely be BIS for solo Stam Sorc/Stamplar. It will far outperform TFS/Sprig in solo content, and more points can instead be allocated to physical damage.

    Big problem with this and Sunder changes is the effect it’ll have on endgame Stam raiding. Light Armor provides 5k penetration naturally. Add in Pierce, Crusher, perhaps Alkosh, and you’re getting close to negating enemy resistances completely. This difference can be made up with cp. However, due to diminishing returns, it’d be hard to negate ALL spell resist. But physical resist, with Sunder/NMG (which together equate to over a 6k penetration difference) allowed Stam to stay competitive in end-game content. But their ability to do higher single target damage is dependent on optimizing sets amongst them. The trade off for the higher damage was the “squish” factor; stam have no shields, and are closer to the focal point of boss damage.

    But without that, what reason would there be to have stam in trials? VAS already is run with all Magicka teams, and from what I’ve read about Cloudrest it seems like that may be becoming the norm. 2 pivotal sets removed, but no buff/enhancement in a meaningful way to keep stam relevant.
