Damage Calculated by Weapon in Hand?

I know that the weapon/spell damage has SOME sort of calculation by what's in your hand, but if you have a sword/shield and a staff on backbar, does both spell and weapon damage increase? Is the damage increase coming from a specific bar or how does that work?

I just found this on esoacademy, is this correct? If it is correct, does that mean that a gold sword(for the sake of this example) that does 1500 damage will increment both my weapon AND spell damage by that amount?

    "Weapons (Quality, Level)
All weapon types grant both Spell and Weapon Damage."

    Yes.

And I take it that damage number will change if I have a lower damage weapon on my backbar and switch to it? It will also reflect that weapon?

Yes. You can look at your character screen to see this change. Not sure what is complicated about this.

Nothing is complicated, that's why both of my questions seemed to be easily answered. I'm not on ESO or around the console at the moment, I'm in bed theory crafting in my head. So figured I'd ask here. I feel as though you're being condescending about it and I was just asking a, what i thought was a simple question
