Patch notes 4.0 Artic Wind

We were lied upon

Arctic Wind: Increased the initial heal done by this ability and its morphs to 12% of your Max Health from 10%.

That's kinda a joke for someone that wished to have a reliable ice heal.

Still remains trash both for pvp and pve.

Hope they change it

In cyrodiil you now get a WHOOPING 6% of your max health healed for like 4000 magicka

If you have 25000 health you get back... wait for it,,,

1500!!!! Health as you get take non stop damage.

    NOT ONLY THAT FOLKS!!
You also get 750 more health every TWO seconds.

Wow ZOS must have taken you months to come up with that one. Us magicka wardens are totally in your debt.

(Erm yeah, should have just left it at 10% and not wasted your time. No one is slotting this pathetic heal)

    Please increase the heal percentage.

I'd take 25% for the inital heal, 12% for the heal over time... It's nice to have a self-heal for when I do dungeons on my Warden tank that are better to run without a healer.

Could you clarify how we lied? If you're referencing one of the write-ups from the recent event we had at the studio, they mentioned the heal will increase by 20% which is still true. It is increasing to 12%, which is a 20% increase in effectiveness. If this is something different, please let us know.

Lol yeah, ZOS definitely didnt lie but the group of people that went were *** with this one lol

They were screaming increase the heal by 20%. The rest of the community was wondering was it:

20% increase heal so it goes from 10% of your max health to 30%?
    or from 10% to 20%?

Lmao it was from 10% to 12% and none of these people bothered to mention how useless this is to us or to ZOS.

    What @mb10 said

Most of us tought from the useless 10% to a useful 30%

    Was misleading

But yeah, if you wanted to make this thing worth it's cost. It won't be worth anything

I find this as humorous as those who whine that:

"We were PROMISED this and that by the MMO developers AT LAUNCH..."

The assurance may have come at launch... so in that sense, they are correct...
But there is usually not a timetable by which developers assured us a featured would be in ESO...

Why is this skill such a weak heal? It's too niche to be worth slotting for 99.9% of Wardens.

There's like literally one build where it could be somewhat useful:

An Imperial City PVP Imperial Tank Healer wearing Imperial Physique and Plague Doctor. And even then, in that incredibly niche build, we're talking about simply getting the heal to roughly 7K after Battle spirit, and that's 7K including the HOT.

I do agree that the comment was somewhat ambiguous. It doesn't help that many other classes are getting 30% heals to help their setup, while Warden only gets 12%. I can see why people mistook the 20% increase to mean 10% + 20% = 30%, instead of 10% x .2 = 12%

I'm not quite sure why it's only a 2% increase overall...I wonder what their logic behind that is. I know they made allot of changes to try and make unused glyphs viable...not sure how 2% extra health is going to suddenly make that morph viable.

No you just use some of the most awkward wording ever guys.

Remember Shuffle - "it's working as intended" - could have mentioned it was cheat engine using shuffle to make it appear as if it's not working as intended

Why do you use % based on a percentage?

It even takes longer to write. "Artic blast, increased the heal to 12% from 10%" aka there's been an addition of 2% - rather than "increasing this amount by 20%"

In English there is not any indication of a percentage of a percentage. It can be correctly interrupted as "we have increased this amount by an additional 20%" or "we have increased this amount by 20% of 10%"

Example, "I have 10%, I will increase this by 20%" how does the reader know if I mean 10+20 vs 10+(10*2) ? There's no indication.

ZoS could EASILY write it so the reader knows EXACTLY what's happening, but y'all do that intentionally don't you?

Edit: wanna write it so everyone knows exactly what you mean instantly? - "artic blast will gain an additional 2% healing"

To be honest the "20% of 10%" is just ridiculous. Even 20% of max health would be ridiculous. And they're buffing this awful ability from 10% to 12%. I don't even know what to say.

Ok, Lied is a bit strong, but the patch notes really should've read something like:

"Arctic Blast - We've made a minor improvement to an absolutely useless ability because we think it's funny to get your hopes up"

Seriously, it doesnt take a genius to tell that something is off with this ability. Dragonblood: 33% of your missing health. Dark Cloak: 33% of your max health over 3 seconds. Clannfear: 35% of your max health instantly (and it heals the pet too). Arctic blast? 2.2% of your max health per second over 10 seconds, is what it really boils down to.

This ability is absolute shite, and we're getting sick of miniscule changes made for no reason other than to lead on your customers.

I don't think ZOS lied cause it wasn't from them that any of the "leaked" updates came from before the patch notes.

Having said that, I definitely think it could be buffed some more. My suggestion would be to make it 25 - 30% of your health but if you refresh it while the hot is still on you it will cost twice as much

Still waiting for the day they turn the Arctic Blast morph into the skill we saw in the Morrowind trailer.

The Magicka-based, Single-target, instant cast Direct Damage+DoT that activates a freeze CC for a few seconds..... a skill which this class so desperately needs for both PvE DPS and PvP (especially now that Deep Fissure has no stun).
