A question regarding crown gems

So, I haven't played for a while, and I have 8 crown gems that I have received throughout the game time.

I browsed around in the games Crown Gem Rewards, and found some awesome stuff I wanted (the zombie look).

However, I only have 8 grown gems, and I know I can only get more through the crates which costs Crowns...

How possible is it for me to get the Crown Gem rewards from now on, I guess they will be swapped at some point.

I would really like that look for 100 crown gems, but I dont know how long the item will be there, and I guess I in theory have to buy a million crates to get enough crown gems right?

    In order to get more crown gems, you have to get crates and either receive duplicate items that you already own, special items that can be turned into gems, or consumables that can be turned into gems. I get roughly 3 to 4 gems per crate when I use the free crates, so that's how I'd figure out how many crates to buy if I needed a certain number of gems.

    However, people who buy a lot of crates report that there is an upper limit where you've gotten most of the items in the crates and so you get a lot of duplicates which become crowns.

    But when the Scalecaller crates gets replaced I would no longer be able to buy the Apex rewards right? So if I want to buy the Decayed Zombie look, I have to get it before the season runs out?

    Yes, It doesnt take that many crown crates to get crown gems unless you keep everything. If you convert everything you can get about 100 or so in 15 crates.

    Yes, It doesnt take that many crown crates to get crown gems unless you keep everything. If you convert everything you can get about 100 or so in 15 crates.

    Correct. You'd have to get it this season or else hope that ZOS brings it back sometime.

    Typically ZOS will post a crown crate showcase and a countdown will appear at around 16 days left, IIRC.

    I imagine the season will end around summerset launch at the end of may and a new season will start with it.

    Psijic crates will come with summerset, so youve got a few weeks

    We get so many crowns why just don’t let us buy the stuff instead of gambling Zenimax has so many nice things to buy anyway.

    Not exactly. 15 crown crates costs 5,000 crowns, out of which you will get an uncertain amount of gems.

    Fixed. Thanks, I meant to say crowns. So 15 crown crates = 5,000 crowns. So that is a little shy of $40 USD at the moment.

    The nature of games that don't require a sub. I don't see it changing any time soon. Some do, some don't. Some do both.

    If you did not get any crates yet it will cost a lot but once you get every reward or most of them then it's very fast to get gems. Take me about 200$ to get everything plus 400 gems then I can get gems very fast after that from all the doubles.

    But since they added the rng mounts you can't buy with gems i stop buying crates this is the 2nd season i skipped.
