it honestly depends on what I'm trying to do with my build. Currently, if having a full 5 piece is more beneficial to my build than a monster set, I run that, if not, I run monster sets. Once Summerset drops and 2h weapons can count as two pieces, then I will probably always run a monster. Currently however I like Spinner's + Wizard's Reposte + 1p Iceheart for my battlesorc.

normaly i only have 1 slot left so it makes it no allowed 2 slots for those,
if i could i would be wearing it, but the 5 pc ea screws up my chance to have 2 slots left over.

its not about beeing tempt by a monster set, because when you create a build on your character, its always about what is your playstyle and what is the 5 piece set who will fit with. And what do you need for make this 5 piece set worked.
And only then, after some long training, you will decide if a 5 piece set is better than a monster set, or vice-versa. or just one

For my magplar, I get more benefit out of two five piece sets and an AS destro/restro setup than I do any monster set.

My stamblade has a Kr'agh helm for the penetration, though.

On magicka specs, running 2 staves or 1 staff + 2H:

Shacklebreaker + Amber Plasm + 1x Domihaus
Shacklebreaker + anything basically forces you into 1x Monster only
Imperial Physique + anything totally forces you into 1x Monster only
Sometimes Necropotence + anything, since you lose so much magicka bar-swapping without having Necro double-barred

I don't have vMA / vDSA / Asylum weapons, otherwise I might run a 5-piece + 3 Willpower + special weapon + monster. You could run 5 / 4 / 1, with 4x Necropotence being quite good for a high-magicka, shielding, but petless build. Shackle + Amber both have very strong 5x bonuses for PvP, though, that allow your magicka character to do some dodge-rolling. Quite good in lieu of wearing the usual Riposte or Transmutation on the back bar, and offensive set on the front bar.

On stamblade:

1x Velidreth + 1x Domihaus + 2 x 5-piece sets just gives the most stats and mag sustain. I mean, what options do you have for stamblade? Selene, right? So instead of that you can get more weapon damage and more magicka. It's at least worth considering.

I also see people building with things like 1x Kena + 1x Veli, 1x Iceheart + 1x Slimecraw, 1x Pirate Skeleton + 1x Chudan, and so on.

On a sorcerer I don't really know if 2 pieces of the same monster set worth it.

I have the choice between :

- Slimecraw => The most potent I think, is it better than 2k magicka and 1k stamina ?
- Engine guardian => Never proc when I have it, constently proc when ennemies use it
- Infernal guardian => Good damage, bad targetting
- Skoria => OP, but no dot to proc it (rune cage/force pulse build)

VS

- 1 dominahaus + 1 max magicka piece. => Allow me to be a free elf from a stamina point of vue, and the 2k magicka make me able to drop arcane trait if I want to use some infused on jewlery.

I'm curious to know what people think about monster set and msorc !

If I had these things, I think the vDSA bow, vDSA destro staff, and Asylum 2H are all great PvP weapons that might take me into a monsterless build.

Well, sorcs used to use Pirate Skeleton, of course. I find that still works well on my shielding light armor magplar. Might not work well for shield-stacking sorcs anymore.

Kena + Overload might be a laugh. I guess no one does that anymore.

Shadowrend has high uptime and allows you to run Necropotence, but as a sorc you have the option for pets anyway, so I guess that's a bit pointless.

I (rarely) see sorcs running Maw of the Infernal. It's a whole zoo with these players, making them hard to target.

Zaan is definitely an option. Dracane runs around in IC destroying suitable targets, e.g. medium armor builds, with Zaan and Soul Assault.

When Swarm Mother came out, Sypher posted a video of pulling people into his mines and bursting them that way. I've never ever seen a sorc do that since, though.

I personally think Minor Berserk is a little overrated, because in my testing with magblade against a target skeleton it does not yield 8% extra damage, but 5.7% and 5.9% depending on skill and weapon used. Your mileage may vary.

Hard to say no to extra magicka on a shielding build, and I find I need every bit of "free" stamina (Domihaus) I can get as well. I don't play sorc, but magblade / magplar / magden, all using light armor and shields.

What I like about it is that it goes off on NBs - or anyone - attacking from behind, or on additional enemies approaching the fight. It's kind of like an early warning system.

i thought they said only bow and staff were getting considered for 2pc, and not the 2 hander weapons.

We weakly have to see what the new monster sets introduced with the expansion are.

Right now, the monster set bonuses just aren’t worth it for a Magicka Sorc at least.

1 x Pirate skeleton

Will probably switch to either Valkyn , for a bit of burst damage, or slot the 2nd Pirate Skeleton when the 2handed changes happened

I wear pirate skeleton on my magsorc. Saves me sometimes, and other times it doesn't. There are so many different battle-scenarios that play out in pvp. Nothing is 100% best for every fight. Sometimes you own, and often you get owned:D

i run infernal for pve and sometimes pvp, but usually i run a mismatched set for damage/health/mag regen for pvp.

Strenght of Automation + Archer's Mind/Hundings Rage.

I prefer to be too far away for any of the monster set procs to actually hit my target.... I am only in melee if my opponent closed the gap on me.

Magsorc here. Using shackle+alteration mastery+2x infernal guardian.
I run destructive clench on my mainbar, destructive clench makes you a medium range player using at its maximum potential the infernal guardian, i hit 3/3 times my target due to it’s ever blocked. (Using frost staff with shock enchant). When i run in cyrodiil i change clench with force pulse, more effective on range combats. About my experience, infernal guardian is better than domihaus+1max mag piece, provides a little more damage on a defensive build.(not vamp here, was tired about dawnbreaker almost 1 shot me)
