Losing Spell Damage?

Trying to adjust my build and ran into a weird problem. So I have a spell damage of 1988. Now when removing my Suducers set which gives me 2 magicka recovers, max magicka, and a magicka cost reduction, and replaced it law of juleonus. Which gives 2 spell criticals , max magicka, and spell damage. My spell damage drops to 1933. Why is this? Shouldn't I gain more spell damage? My Suducer set is gold with weapon/spell damage gliph, but that only activates after an attack. So why am I losing spell damage?

Is your Julianos gold too? Gold weapons are ~200 damage increase by themselves

and maybe he had a nirnhoned legendary seducer weapon, which would be once more 200 spelldamage

Oh, okay I did not know that. So if I had my sword gold, then I would have around 2130 spell damage instead of 1930. Though I'm not sure if that will really make that much of a difference in Campaigns.

I was using sharpen. However, using Nirnhorned adds another 200 damage? So that would be a total of 400 with Nirn and gold improvment?

When you do the math on overall damage actually being dealt, Infused with a Weapon Damage Glyph, Nirnhorned and Sharpened and Precise all do about the same damage, at least in 1% of each other. PvP, because of Impenetrable, does make Precise a less desirable option.

So, Nirn may not be any better than some other traits and set ups.

As for gear, you can really get away with Purple Armor, but your weapons should always be Gold.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

run a nirn golded staff and it will make a massive difference for you spell damage. When upgrading your gear, weapons are always first and the armor are secondary to upgrade. You can really get away with purple gear outside of your weapons, the difference is minimal, but for weapons you must ALWAYS gold them out.

yies, I know all of that. Just didn't know that having a weapon gold increases the actual damage of it in character stats.

either way. don't think this build change is worth it. Though I do go from 1980 spell damage to a theoritical 2430, and a critical of 48% to a 55%. I go from 1200 magicka recover to 745, and lose 8% magicka reduction costs.

And with the way campaigns are set up mechanically. I don't think an additional 300 spell damage will really make any difference.

Maybe you want to check out some others magdks pvp builds on youtube. There you will find tons of builds and sets used by other. I remember julianos getting used by JDmoonan once, but there are sets more prevalent out there. Maybe you will find one that you like, which provides more damage than seducer and more sustain than julianos. Maybe bloodthorn is a set you want to consider.

The one I already have now is good. I was just seeing if I could adjust to do more damage. Bloodthorn is alright, but it's really not making any difference. All I'm doing is just adding an additional 127 spell damage, of which I'm pretty sure doesn't really make any difference in campaigns.

If you say „adding“, you mean that the sustain is fine too? Because if that is trua, i surely would go for bloodthorn. One spelldamage bonus doesnt seem to male a big difference, but buildinh is exactly about that: testing, adjusting and slowly moving towards more damage. Thats why its called minmaxing, because you want every bit available to use and therefore one spelldamage bonus is good. Especially when you also gain stamina sustain, which is not present in seducer.
