Is eso dead

Old tired dungeons and boring same old mechanics for trials on top of a very unbalanced pvp setup. Is the game dead?

Yes neat graphics, not many load screens and a hot bar battle system are all great things. I think eso did good but end game they absolutely stink. The best they could come up with is battle grounds and that turned out to premade power houses vs potatos. Its brutal

Also this whole stamina/magicka divide is just aggrovating. What a money grab!?!

There's like... a ton of DLC and a new chapter and another new one coming out soon. If you're complaining about lack of things to do 'end game' in ESO then idk if there's an MMO for you my dude.

No. The game is actually quite healthy right now.

But every once in a while, on every gaming forum ever created, these threads pop up for no reason at all. :/

Its not lack of things to do. Its just all old. Every dungeon is basically the same thing. Trash mobs to boss. Boss has a mechanic but once you know it, its easy mode.

    Trials is absolutely mind numbing.

Pvp is just farming for AP.

    Battlegrounds is premades vs pugs.

    The end game is sad

PVE is still kinda lame when it comes to mechanics. It is stupid easy unless you are in vet trials or vet DLC dungeons. Even then it is just learning the mechanics to beat it.

PVP is still fun, No more AOE caps so you never really feel helpless like you used to when out numbered.
Balance has reached a pinnacle. Only people who Don't know what they are doing will say its unbalanced. Somethings are super strong 1v1, but completely worthless in open world (Zaan) other things are OP open world but usless in a 1v1 setting (earth gore)

class balance is amazing right now, Only minor tweeks are needed to make balance even better. But very minor tweeks at that. In the NA legend weekly dueling tournaments all classes and specs (stam and magic) show up and compete pretty closely. Only a few classes over perform with very specific build set ups. I think the only class that 100% needs help in pvp is magwarden. They have it rough.

If you actually played this game for four years(which you haven't.) Then you would know that they have done a lot more good then harm to this game and if it was a cash grab they wouldn't have remade the whole leveling system and everything else they have changed for free since launch. Yea they do dumb *** sometimes but its not all ***. And good luck finding a better mmo then this on ps4.

See, this is the next thing, what is untypical for a role playing game - balance. Normally you do not want balance in such a game, but diversity, each character very different from the next one. All the balancing efforts are just made to satisfy the typical MMO crowd, and it is not helpful for the actual game, which is a role playing game. TES comes from the RPG genre.

You guys will never experience the joy of playing as an "average" guy with "average" gear or as an unusual character with it's very own way to deal with the game world - instead you are following the current meta like slaves. I really don't know why you guys play ESO, which is so not made for this kind of game play.

Are u scared to answer? Why does the end game being obviously bad somehow hurt your ego. You dont have to apologies for eso. They have went down the cash route on their customers. Draining them at every turn[/quote]

Honestly mate, ESO is more active than ever before.
The event has brought more people than ever to the zones to run dailies and pledges to try and get the fabled Worm Cult Motif.
There is the usual peaks and troughs around events that happens with every game. Event / chapter / DLC drops, players flock to the game. Couple months later, population quietens down again as the long term players keep doing there things whilst the casuals log in here and there whilst waiting for the next event.

ESO End Game in a nutshell, or in better words. What I can think of at the time being.

    Experience TES Lore.
Work as a faction too win the alliance war.
Work as a guild too crown an emperor.
Work as a guild too kill strong monsters in the deepest depths or sacred grounds.
Compete against other teams for the best times / highest scores on leaderboards.
Meet new people too play with.
Play with said people and have fun.
Make your own trading faction and control Tamriels finances.
    Start Roleplaying?
Make a new guild teaching newer players how too clear trials / dungeons.
    Buy a house.
    Furniture said house.
    Farm achivements.
    Upgrade your mounts.
Skill your crafting, learn all motifs.
    Make alts.

Then rinse and repeat as ZeniMax gives us more too do =D

Zeni does not release the player numbers. so not sure where you are getting this idea that population is down. If you are going off Steam. There have been issues with Steam players logging in so naturally that would cause populations to drop.. BUT steam only accounts for a very small minority of players in the actual game.

    "I don't like it" =/= bad.

that said... MMO's and MMO like games like destony, etc - this is it, that's the end game. pve group content where there trash/boss progression, and pvp.. whatevers, but for the most part its mostly stuff like battlegrounds. a few games have something Cyrodil like also, but mostly its battlegrounds.

so you not liking it is just YOU not liking it. maybe MMO's are not for you

P.S. population down? citation needed, and before you bring up steam numbers - steam is a fraction of PC players and doesn't account for consoles at all.

I mean if you look at the steam charts..... naw never mind steam charts dont mean anything, just that the game averages over 7k players a day on steam alone.

What your complaining about is your personal boredom with the game, go play something else. Dont make bait posts in the forums saying that a game whos playerbase has grown like 200% in the past 2 tears is dying. When its you who just cant find enjoyment in it anymore.

The game is making alot more money now and has a hell of alot more concurrent players than it ever has.

Its not hard to see that this is a clear personal problem on your end.

THIS. I've played a lot of MMOs, and in every single one of their forums, there are always the inevitable threads about how those games are dying. Even if they're actually doing great. I guess MMOs just attract loads of people who love to complain about inane/untrue things??? Like flies to a sweetroll.

This thread is bad and OP should feel bad.

Population isn't down, the game appears to be quite populated to me, often so much, that I log out to play at a later time, when not that many are all over the place and I can do a quest without the enemies all dead already. So from my personal experience it is very busy and there is not an end to ESO for years to come. Maybe "end game" is a bit stale, I don'T know, because I will never get any near to it. To me ESO is enjoying the game world with mostly blue gear, a few pieces purple and for this "average guy" gameplay ESO is fine as it is. I don't care about the "elite", because those are just a few percent and guess what?- the game is mainly made for the 95%, who will not become elite anytime soon if ever. Those guys who do not consume a region within a couple of hours, which took many months to create - this is the lasting population long term.
