Better matchmaking, better performance (CPU stuff only on PC), better under the hood stuff. Less calls to the client for standard stuff. New quest for Cyro. New random BG daily—but you have to place 1st or 2nd. Think that’s about it.

Still no CP BGs, though, which I found dissapointing.

So TL;DR on the PvP changes, siege slots increased to 30 for defending and can be higher if keep is upgraded, new costume pieces added for a new cyrodiil that will be unspecific "take 3 keeps", "take 6 resources" or "kill 40 players" parts of the costume will drop and can be merged into a sellable or openable rune box for each piece (helm, chest etc.) New items from BGs that are a Suprise, you can choose BG game type now, and BGs take into account if you're premade or solo.
i do not read replies. still playing stamdk for some reason.

New quests: capture 3 different keeps/ 9 resources, kill 40 players they will grant new items which can be made into a runebox for a costume (runebox can be sold)
Quests also grant other rewards ~ crafting goods but he wasn't specific on that

Tick changes: you have to actively be involved in the fights for the extra points outside of the normal capture tick.
You don't have to be in the area to get the tick.
The ticks are stored for each category of objectives seperatly. When you enter the area of one objective it overwrites the stored tick for this objective is resetted.

Ticks will be given out after ~60 seconds of the last death

The low population / score bonus is now applied and checked after ~3-4 hours

Scrolls are now worth 10 points toward campaign scores

Guards in cp will be stronger/ tougher but eclipse spam will be fixed

He said something about lots of performance changes but yeah we heard about that

Performance changes had to do with multi core rendering, how players are loaded in at distance, and passive checks server side.

I thought he said you couldn't pick BG match type, but you can select the leaderboard you want? That didn't make much sense to me. Maybe I misheard.

IMO that is a good change. Now it will be pug vs pug and premade vs premade.

That looks good on paper, but if you separate pre-mades and pugs ... and then let players choose the type of match they want ... how bad are the queue times going to be?

Not trying to diminish these QoL improvements to battlegrounds; they are great. Just worried about the queue. Maybe it’s a non-issue but wanted to at least raise it.

They're making the Guards even WORSE? :/

Lovely. Looking forward to even more of entering a Campaign to see my fellow Reds have ignored Yellow resources around Farragut so long they've gotten to Level 5. And no hope of myself soloing them back.

For me we are tackling the consequences, not the root cause

    Problem is poor matchmaking systems

Only difference is now when PUG will kick our arses we will not have the premade excuse. We will have to face the facts that some players with dedicated builds are just really good at it. And until we see good ranking / matchmaking system, it will be an issue

They are not separating the que, they are merely adding more functions to favor grouping pre-mades versus other pre-mades.

Currently guards are a joke in CP pvp. Resources can be easily soloed, its about time they buffed the guards. They did say they are fixing the NPC eclipse to correctly proc CC immunity.

It just hope that these changes will spread the population to more keeps.
    Defence seems to be strengthened.
Offence seems to swift from mindless zerg rushing through the breach to something more.
    Hopefully
We might see scroll runs during happening at the same time as emperor crowning sieges.

Then again it may still remain a zerg game.

Honestly would rather have a bit of a longer q time than play with players who treat every mode like a DM as well as a longer q time to avoid an almost guaranteed loss playing against premade groups.

    Great news for me!

I just started doing BGs and though I had read the complaints over the past few months I didn't think it would be as unfun as it is. However I hadn't complained since I have experienced this in other MMOs and late today decided to just stop doing BGs.

There comes a problem with this check system, from my experience in previous MMO PvP arena sized formats, voice chat queuing is the simplest way to get around this.

In my opinion there is much that could be done to improve Battlegrounds, but I won't get in to that as it is not likely to be considered by ZOS.

In my opinion there is much that could be done to improve Battlegrounds, but I won't get in to that as it is not likely to be considered by ZOS.

ZOS simply needs to do 3 things with Battlegrounds:

    1. Have a CP and non-CP and under-50 version (just like with Cyrodiil). We currently only get under-50 and non-CP or under-50 and CP; but, never both CP and non-CP at the same time.

    2. ZOS needs to create a MMR (Match-Making Rating) system or season/bracket system (e.g. Play 5 or 10 Battleground matches to get 'ranked' for the season and get placed as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond [or whatever they want to name the brackets)] and have each tier have a percentage of the player-base. E.g. Only the Top 20% of BG players can be in the Platinum division for any given season, and the bottom 20% in Bronze, or whatever... (plenty of ways to iron-out the specific details here); but, regardless, BGs need an MMR system so newbie fight-time BG players stop getting placed against the #1 player on the leaderboards match after match after match.
I have seen first-hand the same player-names in several consecutive Battleground matches. Playing the same group of people again over and over again is rather annoying and defeats the purpose of a queue if you're just going to match up against the #1 person on the leaderboards every single time, lol.

    3. Relating to my previous point, is the need to separate solo-queuers with pre-made groups. Obviously a group of 4 people who are skilled, coordinated, playing the objective, and communicating via voice chat in TeamSpeak/Discord will always beat the 4 individuals who solo-queued and text to communicate and are playing death-match instead of the mode's objective, lol, unless it is, in fact, a death-match BG game.

Also, 4. I don't mind the randomness of the BG game-type mode as much (e.g. being able to queue for solely death-match or solely capture-the-relic, or whatever, would be nice), but the other 3 issues pointed out above are more important and take priority over specific game-mode queues, in my opinion.

Not sure why ZOS removed CP-enabled BGs (BGs have gone from non-CP only to CP-only then back to non-CP only).
I re-read the Dragon Bones DLC Patch Notes, where ZOS reverted the BG changes, but ZOS did not give a specific reason why they changed it. Again.
But, again, why not have both? Just like Cyrodiil.
Let players play how they want to play.
Players didn't grind to 720+ CP just to not ever be able to use all the CP combo spec variations for in PvP, especially Battlegrounds; which is literally 1/3rd of the PvP content in ESO, other than Cyrodiil and Imperial City, which should technically even be clumped together as one, but I digress, lol.
