So it’s been nearly 10 minutes to log in and I am still not at my character-selection screen. Sadly, his is not an uncommon occurrence. This game is amazing in so many ways, but your client-server infrastructure, as you probably already know in the inside, needs a ton of work. Every other online game I play, which includes World of Warcraft, Diablo 3 and SWTOR, takes less than 15–20 seconds to get to the character screen. This is not a problem with my computer. This is a problem on your end. This problem need to be given more attention. Maybe it’s a problem with the way you implemented the mega-server concept, maybe it’s a problem with the whole mega-server concept in the first place. I don’t know. All I know is that I and many others I know have this problem and it needs to be repaired or you are going to disenfranchise folks.

nathan_bri✭✭✭✭After giving up all hope, I closed the client, relaunched the application and got in within 30 seconds. Again, this is not a problem on my end as nothing had changed with my computer, my router, my cable modem nor my service provider.Edited by nathan_bri on April 13, 2018 4:32PM1

✭You do know this happens every update right? If you download an update, it takes longer to log in after it applies the patch...then it is fine until the next patch. No big deal.0 -

nathan_bri✭✭✭✭The problem has nothing to do with add-ons since it is occurring before I even arrive at the character screen. This is an intermittent problem that arises when it arises, independent of anything on my end. This is a longstanding problem with either their server architecture, where their servers are located and how they connect to the internet or some weird thing in-between. NOTE: I’ve been playing since beta and this problem comes and goes, getting better and worse over time.
There are other issues with the server *after* trying to log into a character that got really bad with the Imperial City update and has gotten better and worse with subsequent updates. I have a theory that they artificially extended the time it takes to log into a character to limit reset-farming, where folks would log out and back into reset all the containers when farming for Motifs and such, which used to be a really big thing before the Justice System was added.Edited by nathan_bri on April 13, 2018 10:41PM0 -

✭✭✭✭✭If you have master merchant, make sure that you clear it every few weeks or it will slow down your login time.
Also, make sure you don't park your character in a populated town (like Rawl'kha or Vivec City). You will get queued every time you login and need to wait for a spot to open up.0 -

I get to the character screen...it's an issue of logging in a character.
Trying to wrap up the game and the guilds....can't do it. PITA.I know nutting....0 -

Like I wrote in the original posting, this is just getting from the login credentials to the character screen. Doing so does not load add-ons, nor does it load zone data.0 -

I'm thinking the issue might be too many players for server capacity...people getting queued? So what happens when Summerset goes live...and people get out of prison...I mean school...wait and see....

erliesc✭✭✭Sent in a trouble report. Yesterday no issues as far as I remember. Today back to the SOS. ERRORS and TIME OUTS.
