Limited crown store space?

I just logged in and saw that the Snow Leopard Senche pet is now limited off, whereas before it was permanent. Is there a limited amount of space in the crown store, do they keep removing things to make space for new ones? Or is it purely a greedy marketing ploy to make people snatch it up before it disappears? I don't get why they don't just fill the store up with tons of items and just leave them there forever, and then if they want to have limited offers they could still do that.

    I believe the countdown is for the discount not the item. if items are to be discountinued the info is found with store showcase I think.
    I grabbed the leopard and the doublet :)

    From what I've seen, usually the limited pricing precedes the item being removed to then later be put in a future season of crates. So if you want it, would probably get it now unless you like crates.
