I would say the only time mudballing could reasonably be called griefing is when its done to people at the outfit station, since that legitimately disrupts what they're doing. Any other time you can simply ignore it with no ill effect.

Plus everyone knows that real men throw crows.

    Roflmao
That reminds me of the cinema advertisement I used to see as a child (ca1960) when I went to the children's matinee (well, where else would I see Suzanne Pleshette?)on Saturday mornings "You're not a man if you don't smoke Marlboro" How times change!

'have a real cigarette. have a camel.'

    LOL Touché

Just like the Vespa vs Lambretta argument of the same era.

But I suspect I may be accused of derailing the thread by wandering down Memory Lane (as one does as one gets old) so let's leave it at that.

My cat this month broke my Playstation, ripped up my daughters assessment task, destroyed the cat proof flyscreens. Stole some money broke into room and stole cat toys on wands I use to play with him to stop him doing this and shredded them ( he has his own toy basket of 50toys but waned the three he couldn't have)
Chewed up some raw potatos so wreaked our dinner. chewed a hole in the rabbits water bottle ( and the rabbit is his friend) broke the glass kettle, and hid a USB all that's left is yodas chewed up head. And finally managed to knock over the water cooler - he's wanted to do that for some time he loves water.
The kajhit is strong in him, he's a bengal cat he is also very good fun and super affectionate and does many tricks - but if he could work mud balls he would be throwing them to get you to play too. I'd say it's RPing - some cats are just a..holes.
. (I have two ragdolls who Would find it distasteful though as they often do him and leave you be )

ah right i should have specified me and my friend were the mudballing cats in this scenario >:3 also they were germans or i think so thus i couldn't understand anything anyway...
^^^ Just to be clear - the OP was the one throwing the mudballs at the RP'rs, and not the other way around. No need to tell the OP to stop complaining, etc.

is this punishable or how do people feel about it? in the end both sides throw mudballs at each other and they went away but...?

They knew full well what they were releasing into the wild when they created those runeboxes. They are not going to punish people for using them.

I find mudballs to be not a good thing. Unfortunately.
    I don't RP.
But... One of my friends... well... one person known to me - don't know the correct English word - thinks it is funny to hit me with mudballs and crows when he meets me at crafting station or dolmen. What I did: first time it happened, I put my rose petals into quick slots to make "revenge".
But he was hiding! It took me several days to figure him out. When I discovered him, I sent him a message in our local social network. He said it was a joke, but... very often at cratf stations I get mudballs and crows. Annoying!

Are you honestly suggesting that throwing a digital mud ball at a digital character in a game should be a punishable offense? ...you want a video game safe space? I can't wait to watch this world burn down because of you people.

it would be hilarious if mud balls were reflectable

I know we can throw them back, but that defeats the purpose ... not interested in a mudball fight. I think it would be funny if the person who threw the mud ball had it reflected back at them while the person they threw it at simply went about their business.

I just use shuffle to counter mudballs.

And people call medium armor weak...

Pssssh. Git gud, Ragna. You gotta use DK wings to reflect the mud for 40% extra mudball damage. :D
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

Throwing mudballs at someone specifically to ruin their fun could be considered griefing.

The ToS term you are looking for is harassment. I would think much more than a few mudballs outside of the associated event would do it.

ZoS apparently failed the MMO go check. If it's not PvP, not due to an event, and causes you to lose control of you toon or breaks the personal space bubble, FAIL.

Seriously, there is actual legal action over simulated ***. Not to far from PvP t-bagging...

If you want to RP in private, do it in a private location, like a house.

There is nothing in the TOS that says "mudballing other players is bad"

We can't take server events to private, because ZOS thinks 24 players is an adequate cap.

Unfortunately I routinely host RP events with an average of 40-60 players present... and we have no choice but to RP in public.

Usually there's at least one idiot who thinks they're being super creative and hilarious by throwing mudballs. You can ignore it, but it's pretty irritating that people think it's valid gameplay to try to annoy others.

But I guess it's hard to understand why people would want to do something social in a group if your goal is to harass others.

Honestly the things people get wound up about... What's to say you mud balling cats wasn't upsetting them/their game time? It is anti social behaviour after all, and thus maybe they were stopping animal cruelty.

I duel request every thief or assassin I see in capital cities

Either have a broader mindset or RP your way out of it as in real life I saw people doing that id be throwing mud at them

The sense of entitlement runs deep these days in people feeling they can dictate show others have to play around their ruleset..

well honestly i think mudballing its by far the safest thing one can "ruin" a rp session...in WoW you would have others switch to the other alliance toons and turn ur RP event into a graveyard meeting.

I think the whole mudball thing is stupid, it would be a lot more fun if throwing a mudball at someone also automatically invited them to duel...then there would be a lot fewer mudball spammers around.

OP generally as frustrating and disrupting as it is just ignore them and they go away because it's not fun to troll when you feel invisible.

I stand in them. They immediately step back to try’s and hit me again, so I go in again. I stay in them and they can’t hit me. I assume they are either laughing with the counter or frustrated with a taste of their own medicine. Perfect either way. Then I dodge roll away and go into a crafting table.

this is a foreign concept to some of you, I guess, but leaving people alone to have their fun is free.
