Can anyone help name my character?

Had the perfect character! It was perfect! He was handsome. I was ready to commit but ..."name taken". O.O try as I might couldn't think of anything before it timed out :'(

So here's hoping someone out there has an idea. I trying keep with theme of moon.

These are my current character names.
Sinful Moon ( suppose to be fallen moon, but this worked out)
Taintless Shadow ( meaning moon phases)
Moonlight Saint (sage who trains in moonlight )
Wind Caller ( wolves hollering at moon)
Gift the moonlight - (suppose to be born in moonlight, but that sounded bad) will rename later to go with tides

Trying think of a name for something like eyes in night or those things that scare us. Character is going be fast and very bright. It's a orc sorc tank! At last any inspiration would help.

-_- P.S would be really nice to know name is taken before finishing character.

The best way to do a name is to make sure you don't come across as trying to flatter yourself or boost your ego. Moonlight Saint would be out unless you were specifically roleplaying a character, as is Gift of the Moonlight.

Sinful Moon sounds a bit edgy to me, but I'm a stickler. I take -hours- making a character before I finally commit.

If you get stuck with English names, try giving it a spin in a different language. Latin's popular, provided it's structured properly. Lunar themes are a favorite of mine, as is silver and anything related to souls, so I can relate.

Take your time, look through synonyms and antonyms for your choice words/titles, and really focus on what theme you want your character to embody.

EDIT: And don't forget about special characters. It takes a bit of trial and error, but there are a bunch of accented characters you can use, including those with strokes through them. Go to your search bar if you're on PC, and look for "Character Map"

Above all else, keep things simple. A wordy name only really works for an argonian. Single names are best IMO.

Those are names if my other characters. Simply trying keep the theme and ran out of insprition.

you got the name feelings down though. XD I picked moonlight Saint as my Templar healer for it's ego. The ones done right have feeling for it.

I might go with special characters if I can't think of anything else.

Just kidding. I really prefer names that fit with races lore-wise, but that's just me. At the very least, for an orc, maybe something like Moonsmasher or Nightcrusher or Shadowsplitter or something badass like that if you want to stick to that theme.

Actually tried that this time. Light of the night was a translation. Idk it's hard naming something. +.+ It's like gives it life Esscence.

Shadowsplitter is nice. Something stong and manely for my orc.

Or perhaps some historical inspiration? Khajiit has two apprentices named in a similar fashion - Alderman Snowball Dugglby and Jennet Bleysard.

Those are names that I use.

Mane is Norse for Moon, Solvmane is Silver Moon.

I´ll post my process of naming a character, since i´ve rarely if even come across "name taken".

So you want an orc sorc tank?

Ask your self first question: male or female. Because orc last names have gro- for males and gra- for females before it. This alone can help a lot.

Next. theme: moon
For this i go here: https://www.behindthename.com/
A great site for names and their meaning. you'd be surprised how many names have a moon, night, shadow ect meaning in them.
for the last name you can either borrow a lore friendly orc family name, or use another name from the names website and ad the prefix.

And done, a unique name that has 0.00001% chance of being taken.

Good luck.

This is obviously also how you can name rp character, or give a character a lore friendly name. in my experience all the non-lore friendly names get taken pretty fast because the average player isnt very creative.

Taintless makes my inner child giggle, so I would avoid that.

I have it on good authority that Tazerface be the name that strikes fear in the heart :-P

I know Moon Moon is taken as I tried to use it at one point...

So you are wanting something that uses "eyes" and "shadow/night" with "moon".

That is actually a lot to work with, I always suggest popping open a thesaurus and going to town.

Eyes - Seeker, Watcher. Stalker, Searcher, Scout, Sentry

Shadow/Night - Darkness, Midnight, Umbra, Shade, Evening, Eve

Moon - Luna, Crescent, Heavenly, Celestial

Now just do some free association or try combining them to see if something strikes your fancy.

Dark Searcher of the Heavens
