Sets to help slow down combat.

What are some good defensive sets for a magblade to help lower damage and slow down combat? I was thinking pariah?
PvP needs more love.

    wizards riposte would be best, since it applies minor maim on the enemy. you are right, pariah would be a bit more mitigation, but wizards has nice magicka boni. additionally the effect from wizards riposte also is present, while you have a damage shield up, but the damage on your shields isnt mitigated by resistances.
    also wizards only has to be active on one bar, since the debuff has a very long duration.

    It's not really gonna slow anything down. You're gonna take less damage sure, but you're going to be requiring more to kill/ sustain. Ccs , cloak, roots, shades will work better than pariah imo.

    Don’t use shields is one issue. Hate them in pvp cause they drop too fast. Also I can get main from fear.

    I will have all the stuff you mentioned outside of roots (could use poisons I suppose).

    Sorry maybe I should clarify. Are there any sets for a Magblade that are similar to pariah that would work better. Such as vampire cloak? Or what about something like reactive so I don’t have to break free?

    as a nightblade you can easy build for a huge magicka pool, which increases shieldsize. also bastion from the red cp tree increases shield size a lot. if you would use necropotence with the shadow skill, you can get shields of the size of 15k, which isnt small at all.
    but if you really dont like shields, then cloak surely is your friend, also maybe considering heavy armor is a point. as long as you dont use shields, resistance is your main mitigation source. so basically pariah or fortified brass would work, but your damage will suffer a lot by doing so.

    If you don't like shields, transmutation with reposte is what you need.

    Should mention I’m CP 720 so you can cut basics from the posts to save you time. My current build is planning for Cyrodiil stats of
    25k health
    40k mag
    12.5k Stam

    2k mag regen
    1.1k Stam regen

    2.8k spell damage
    44% spell crit
    1.8 crit modifier
    11k spell pen before major breach

    (Buffed)
    26k spell defense
    24k physical defense
    3.3k crit resist


    I mean does this look solid?

    I mean I know that riposte is good for shields but is there any other defense sets I could use to buff them up? Just feels like they disintegrate too fast.

    Actually stats dont look bad, you have a decent resistance too. The only set worth it to make you tankier woeld be the mosterset pirate skeleton. To go any other resistance set, you would lose either sustain or damage. Ah maybe malubeth would work too to boost your healing...but i havent seen malubeth a lot lately.

    Ironic is I’m using 1 Kena 1 pirate with the above I could drop for 2 pirate and SD would be a bit lower.
