Random blackscreen and GPU fan at max

I built a new PC and I'm having a problem with ESO. I'm randomly getting blackscreen (looks like the monitor gets no signal from the gpu) and the GPU fan starts to blow at maximum speed. It sometimes takes 5 minutes to a few hours to happen. Most of the time I was in group dungeons, but also happened in the overworld. Windows and the game seems to continue running, I can still hear sounds from both Windows and ESO. If I press a skill on my keyboard, I can hear it working. All I can do at this point is post the reset button on my PC.

It doesn't happen with any other games. I intially thought that it might be a hardware issue but I did a stress test on the GPU, CPU, and both at the same time for a couple of hours and it was fine. It only happens with ESO. It's random and can't reproduce in a test. I've already reinstalled ESO and drivers.

Any help please.

Could you post some more details about your PC setup?

You can run a game consultant to get your PC specifications which can be posted here. This will help in determining why you are getting random black screens.

Thank you for posting your system information. Your PC is well above the minimum requirements and nothing you've posted indicates what the issue could be.

Have you tried either repairing through the launcher or re-installing ESO?

If not, those would be the next two things to try, as there could be corruption in the game files causing ESO to freeze up randomly as your playing. Please let us know if either of those help.

Sure you've done this but have you tried maybe downgrading your card driver to see if that helps?

    New PC...

What Power Supply did you get? Have you also made double sure the card and power cables are fully seated?

Take off the side of the case and point a floor fan at the innards to rule out heat issues.

If your running the Nvidia Experience App, stop that from loading with windows (it is mostly to keep your drivers up to date). I wait until Nvidia Drivers are out for a week or two before I think about updating them, and then, only if they address some issue I have. Too many driver packages caused weirdness for me in the past. Anyway, the Experience App has caused issues for some folks so see if its better if its not running.

Also, new machine, but did you install the motherboard drivers from the manufacturer's website? Not from Windows, but from the maker of the motherboard.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The time when I had a black screen but could still interact with the game (by guessing the location of the mouse I could even log in and play the game, lol) deleting the shaderCache.cooked file fixed the problem immediately. You can find it in the Elder Scrolls Online/ live folder.

I've installed older drivers and it still happens. Even Installed using DDU in safemode.

The card and power cables are fully seated, did it multiple times to make sure. I initially thought it might be power supply issue or over heating, but it doesn't look like it's over heating. My temps while running ESO are 69C max for gpu, and cpu temps are high 60s with one core reaching 73. I also stress test both the cpu and gpu at the same time for a few hours to use up as much power and produce a lot of heat to see if my problem happens. It didn't happen during the stress test and my gpu temp hit 80C max and cpu were in the mid 80s.

My power supply is EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze, that should be more than enough for a gtx 1070. Just incase, I've ordered a seasonic focus + 750W that should arrive next week to rule out or put the blame on the power supply.
Also, new machine, but did you install the motherboard drivers from the manufacturer's website? Not from Windows, but from the maker of the motherboard.

Yes, motherboard drivers are from the Aorus/Gigabyte, no windows.

I'll look for that file tomorrow.

Delete GeForce experience. That program and ESO do not get along.

What are you doing immediately before the graphics card fails?

Also do you play in full screen, windowed full screen, or windowed?

I'll try that when I get home from work later today.

Sometimes in Elden Root, but most of the times I'm in group dungeons. The graphics card doesn't completely fail. The game is still running, I can hear skills being used. I play in windowed mode.

Update for people that might have the same problem. I changed the psu about a week ago and so far the problem hasn't appeared again.
