Summerset Physical Box - No early access (ANZ)

I ordered through EB Games in Australia the physical edition and was then told there was no early access on PC for us.

At this point, with the information we have, it appears that the early access is specially for the digital copies of the PC version.
If the game is pre-ordered through the Elder Scrolls Online website as a digital purchase the player will receive the early access.
Unfortunately at this stage it does not apply to the physical copy we will stock in store.

@ZOS_GinaBruno can you confirm if we can still get early PC access by providing our receipt of purchase? I'm pretty sure we did that last year but can't remember when or4 how.

I would like to know this too - with the Morrowind prepaid we could send a copy of our receipt and get the preorder benefits - it would be great if they did this again this time over

I've contacted EB Games NZ about my pre-order too, because they have all platforms listed as being released on June 5, when the official website says PC release is May 21. And I really hope the answer you got is wrong about physical copies not getting early access.

Wish we could of gotten early access on PS4. Not like it be impossible since other games with multiplayer have had early access.

So can we just send in a copy of our receipt to get early access? seems kind of crazy that for buying the physical option we are punished by not getting early access.

meh it happens, I live in the U.S and last year had to send my amazon invoice to get early access for morrowind. I don't really equate it to being "punish"

So finally got some replies from support and they said that you cannot just show a copy of your recipt to get early access, you have to have the actual game in hand. They said that the retailer has the release date wrong and it should be 21st May for all PC versions, but its up to me to sort it out with the retailer. So basically rip early access for anyone who bought physical collectors edition.

fyi I'm talking in regards to PC, and early access for us is in May 21st.

yeah i mean i thought they would too, but i specifically asked them that and showed them a screenshot of my receipt but was told no, i will have to have my physical copy in hand before i can play:

"Upon review, if you purchased the physical version of the game you must have your copy on hand in order to play the game. With that in mind, please be aware that the PC version of The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset releases on 5/21/2018 however delivery/pickup is subject to the retailer your purchase is through."

So basically what i get from that is that they *** up and didn't tell the retailers that the release date for all PC versions is supposed to be 21st May, but its MY responsibility to sort that out with the retailer. I mean ill try but I'm pretty sure if i tell the retailer that they have the date wrong, they will just tell me that the date that they have is what they were provided by the game company.... so back to square one.

Yeah I know that amazon had the wrong date for the PC release, and it's been updated to reflect the updated PC release date. Hopefully they sort things out with your retailer.

hmmm ok well if amazon changed it i guess there is hope that EB Games will change it. I would just cancel my order and order from amazon, but shipping would probably make it get here at pretty much the same time anyway.

I contacted EB Games again and they have told me physical PC version release is per stated on their website which is June: https://ebgames.com.au/pc-231723-The-Elder-Scrolls-Online-Summerset-Collectors-Edition-PC

So... Well... Crap!

I've bought physical imperial and morrowind on day 1 and now feel like I cant enjoy Summerset wirh my mates on day 1 of this release. Sigh.

You'll need to reply to the mail you got from ZOS customer service. If you keep replying and speak as though you remember there is a human on the other end, I'm sure they will sort this out.
